i don't think pedro pascal is given enough credit for tthe scenes in the mandalorian where his helmet is off. ofc the saying goodbye to grogu scene is probably the most well known one bc its so sweet and mf luke skywalker is standing there, but the other scenes are acted really well
you can totally see that he understands din would have social anxiety without the helmet on (and i know the directors wouldn't have given him a note like that). his voice is sm quieter and he plays into it, the inability to make eye contact, speaking slower and simpler....
so firstly, give this man a standing ovation
but then..... (because i'm gay) i'm thinking of how din would be in a relationship...
adding onto this with dinluke specifically (duh)...
luke and din are both blunt and bold people, even if luke's comes more as farmboy naiivity and trust in everything while din's is from needing to be intimidating and unemotional in his line of work, so i'm just imagining the first time him and luke have a face to face interaction again after luke gets to know him with the helmet on
luke thinking nothing will change, he's actually excited to be with din's normal confidence when he can look at his face and read his expressions, but it ends up being the exact opposite
he forgets how to speak, he doesn't know how to make eye contact, he mumbles and pulls back whenever he's touched and his armor isn't there to protect him, etc
but i think luke loves it. it is a lot less glamorous side of the mandalorian, but it's so intimate and as time goes on and as din adjusts in his own way (maybe he still doesn't make eye contact very often, but he initiates touch and communicates more), luke enjoys the time they have alone more because he might rather see din's face all the time, but maybe this is better. this side of din is just for him and their son and he can forgive the silly creed for it

being media literate is such a burden
luke skywalker is kind of an outlier in terms of male protagonists considering his core character trait is sacrifice. he wants to leave tatooine so bad it makes him look stupid. and yet, despite yearly arguments with uncle owen he stays. until there’s nothing left to stay for. he chases after the breadcrumb trail that might leave him just an inch closer to the idea of his father with a desperation bordering on stupidity. and he abandons it the second his friends are in danger. at great personal cost. he gives up what he wants over and over without even thinking about it. idk it’s just fascinating
trans ezra headcanons
me and @daichiduh hc ezra as trans bc we transgender ray sm characters, but of course the overall hc has my gayass thinking...
and if I say Garazeb Orrelios is a metaphor for being queer what then
hey can we discuss how when sabine decides to stay with her family she says "i can do more good here" and then in the NEXT EPISODE kallus says the exact same thing when they try to rescue him??????
if they make din a jedi im killing mr disney himself
zeb leak mandalorian and grogu
okay, since that shot was leaked of din and grogu flying in a ship with zeb, my brain made the conclusion that ezra is going to be grogu's master (maybe)
that's really fucking funny, but also a potential plot point for the movie since grogu's force abilities might be getting out of control or something for din to deal with on his own
top 10 favorite star wars characters atm
- luke skywalker and ahsoka tano
cannot decide between literally me irl and my childhood favorite. also their relationships to anakin both kill me and thats whats at the heart of star wars, so i thought it would only be fair they tie (plus its my list, eat my ass)
tadc characters as quotes from me and my friends' discord server part two in honor of episode 3 part one
Ok this is gonna sound weird maybe but I’ve watched Mystery of Mildenhall Manor several times now, and every time I get hung up on this bit.
The obvious and probably intended way to read these lines is “I knew (this adventure) would end up like (the last couple)” and “(Caine) just wants me to suffer.”
But I dunno dude, something about the delivery and the way this is framed within the conversation just makes me feel like Pomni’s referring to something/someone else with these lines. Something that the viewer doesn’t have the context for that she does.
Again, probably not the case, but these lines make my brain itch like “what if she’s not talking about Caine here?”
(imo) she isnt talking about caine bc i know its silly and for the jokes but caine's own issues kinda humanized him for me this ep
it is bc i relate to him being a writer and everything i do is to tell stories, so without it im nothing... but regardless
this could either be a read of caine is trapped in here too, but his own issues manifested into making him the "game maker," (similar to zooble's body issues making them out of interchangeable shapes that never fit right) or it could read as caine being an npc himself and only existing for plot beneficial reasons
neways, bubble is the real bad guy
imagine watching Star Wars in theaters in 1977 and pointing at Darth Vader boarding a ship with Stormtroopers and then choking some guy, and exclaiming THAT'S CLEARLY JESUS CHRIST, THAT'S WHY I'M INTO THIS
Love Star Wars. Love the Bible. I love the story about how Jesus *checks notes* cut off his son’s hand.
remember when satan took jesus out into the desert for 40 days to tempt him and satan was like "hey murder these younglings" and then jesus murdered them and then john the baptist cut off his arms and legs
i was in a gender woman sexuality studies class today and the title of the lecture was "rebels and resistance in the age of empire and xenophobia" and i fuck you not i sat there for ten minutes trying to decide if my prof (A DOCTOR) was going to start talking about star wars
manifesting a ghost crew family reunion in ahsoka season 2 so that the finale just looks like this
