Yamato Ishida “Matt” (石田 ヤマト) - “To Sora” (Digimon Adventure 20th Memorial Story)

I feel like this scene was particularly important in showing how significant Mimi is of a character even when she is not focused on for the majority of the series. If you noticed before Mimi’s arrival right after the Kuwagamon battle, everyone in the group was in a solemn state, trying to figure out what just happened. Most importantly during this moment was what Tai was feeling. He was the one that was probably thinking the most about the consequences that came with the battle at Odaiba and Haneda airport. But upon Mimi’s appearance, the grim mood surrounding the group dissipated immediately. and this is can be shown through the change in Yamato’s facial expression as he stared at Taichi and then afterwards, fixes his gaze on Mimi. At first, Yamato was questioning what exactly Taichi was thinking after the battle because it was different from how he would normally act or respond to a situation, but after Mimi made her appearance and brought some light into the situation you can see that Taichi and even Yamato had come to realize that despite things looking grim, they will eventually be better. When Mimi diverts the attention of the group from the destroyed battlefield of where the Kuwagamon fought to the happiness she was feeling when she had souvenirs and was finally reunited with them, it was like a breath of fresh air. Not just for Taichi or Yamato, but the whole group. I feel that even if Mimi is not one of the main primarily focused digidestined, she contributes a lot to the unity of the group.
