Writing that post made me think about Koushiro and his family and it is making me kind of emotional because, man. His family are just... Perfect for a kid like him.

Koushiro is always worried he’s not good enough, that maybe people don’t like him, and then there are his parents, who have never had any expectation for him to be anything other than their child.

Because that’s good enough for them! As long as Koushiro is alive and doing his best, they don’t want anything else from him ever! They’re just... Proud of Koushiro for being Koushiro.

He’s not a replacement for their lost baby either, they view Koushiro completely and totally as his own person who is also their child, and they just want to watch him grow up and see who he’ll become, all on his own with them standing behind him as a safety net if he ever needs them.

Koushiro is so obviously autistic, and it’s such a non-issue for him most of the time... Probably because he’s been raised by two people who have never wanted him to be anyone but himself. They genuinely enjoy seeing Koushiro do weird stuff with his technology, they trust his judgement, they value and listen to him... When he acts unusual or strange, they’re still there, smiling and supporting him.

And Koushiro tries so hard to be a Good Kid but- His parents wouldn’t begrudge him a rebellious phase, if he acted out, if he had moments of anger... Because they just want to be there for him. They just wanna see him flourish and grow on his own terms...

... I really like the Izumi family. They’re just... They’re all trying so hard, and it’s so sweet because all of them just love each other even at minimal effort. Just, gah.

What a wonderful family. Just. Genuinely the nicest people on earth tbh.

I just want to say again HI YES THIS IS Pretty mUCH EVERYTHING I'VE (Also!!) THOUGHT ABOUT AUTISTIC!KOUSHIRO + IZUMI FAMILY Put into Words and I'm grateful to see ANYONE also pointing out such things about Koushiro + Izumis in a POSITIVE (+Validating!) way so in this instance, again, I don't mind my gif being used to Emphasize these qualities! {But it makes me super grateful you added this note at end too; and yes, I'd love if people reached out to ask for Permission before using them; I'd love to read everyone's posts in advance too +if they're about my (+Special!) Interests--!!} (Digimon + Adventure-related series as a Whole are Included there!)
