I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately to the effect of “people only support nonbinary people if they’re androgynous and genderless, not if they present masc or femme”
and like
I understand that nonbinary folks are under immense pressure to fit into certain molds, but y'all? They’re not treating those of us who are genderless very well, either. We’re really not getting all the praise and support and accolades and public approval y'all seem to think we are.
I for one am constantly pressured to go “one way or the other,” and “commit” to either being masc or femme 100%. I get a lot of “what kind of freak are you?” type harassment, which is compounded by the fact that I have a blend of secondary sex characteristics due to being intersex. People see broad shoulders and facial hair in combination with tits and freak the fuck out because they can’t figure out what box to put me in, and then they make it my fault somehow.
Take your anger out on the transphobic system, not on agender & androgynous folks, please. We’re not getting treated any better than you are.
