With them being one of my favourite human/Digimon partner relationships in the entire franchise, it’s nice to think about all the things they went through together; how far they came from basically not really sharing the same value system, to getting to know, understand each other a lot better, making mistakes, getting in or facing trouble and threatening situations, getting separated, learning and progressing together… They have a lot in common - they’re smart, caring and kind and snarky when necessary -, but also complement each other well: The Digimon are not only parts of their partners’ souls, mirrors and guidances, but also help them to see things from different angles. The partnership isn’t just about fighting and getting stronger - but also about kinship, friendship and familial love. 

Tentomon helps Koushirou to get out of his comfort zone while simultaneously helping him to grow and try to let his walls down, with kindness and words of reassurance - whereas Koushirou helps Tentomon to understand the world around them a lot better. Their world(s). 

They’re each other’s safe haven and they’d die for each other if the circumstances required it - but up to this point, their wit, prowess and persistence has always saved them and everyone around them.

i think we as a society need to use cell phones/laptops/cars/backpacks to flesh out characters

like. a character has a cracked phone screen and a dozen stickers and a glittery case and a photo of their dog as a background. that says so much

or a character has a completely plain phone with no decorations and a default home screen and all the contacts are people's first names with no profile photos. except for one contact which is a stupid nickname and a shot of someone taken at a very unflattering angle. you know?

or cars!!! someone who has a disgusting car, with trash everywhere and mud caking the seats, but the passenger seat is always clean, because someone else always cleans it for them.

this has potential to become a blorbo post so now i want everyone to describe what they think their blorbo's phone/laptop/car/backpack looks like in the tags because i like reading these things

And this is why it continues to astound me when the “meta-fandom” for my fandom has been insisting, increasingly LOUDLY to a point of pushing the view on everyone else in the fanbase who supports Koushiro’s wider canon, for years that the absolute best path for this character to take is one where Koushiro Izumi completely separates themself from their (special!) Interest in Computers / adaption to using computers to ACCOMODATE himself & his Flaws and instead becomes a ““normal”” ““~respectable~”” person of “society”??

As if Koushiro somehow WASN’T accepted by Koushiro’s CANONICALLY ADOPTIVE Family & Friends alrEADY????: (Including, even, in Koushiro’s Interest in Computers & Technology?!?):

I mean?? Was I watching the same series as people who claim THAT,

Like!!! I’ll see so MANY posts like OP’s, supported with 8k+~ responses & Notes even, but for an entire series based around DIGITAL BEINGS and TECH,

Somehow it’s the CANONICALLY ADOPTED character, who’s been shown involved highly with said tech Lores since Day 1, that these kinds of aspects aren’t admired and respected for, even when they’re praised with SO many other characters??!?

All because Koushiro can be a bit closed off and has some communications Issues sometimes, but like, even the characters themselves know Koushiro doesn’t mean anything by it?!?:

Anyway, did you know Koushiro Izumi Sincerely Enjoys Computers / Technology / {you can even say} Science / “Knowledge” in General and this is an Important Set of Details, including in the ANIMATION, that adds layers to Koushiros further developments, personality, & Storyline???

{Across every single adaptation & form of media that Koushiro’s ever appeared in, CONSISTENTLY, regardless of things like the reboot’s changes, EVEN in the new/upcoming movie, “The Beginning”, where Koushiro’s supposedly become a ‘lead researcher’ of the DIGITAL World???}

It’s the “DIGITAL” (!!!) part of this that was ALWAYS the most important!!!

Koushiro, CANONICALLY (many Alternate Universe fanfiction potentials aside) is not becoming a typical “researcher” who is only involved in real-world science and “academia”, as much as these things DO clearly intrigue Koushiro on at least some level too (to the point Koushiro, Taichi, & others will directly acknowledge Koushiro’s highly “focused” Interests +abilities,in various forms of the canon medias);

Koushiro’s researching, well into his 30s and likely BEYOND,
