Digimon Adventure ~ Japanese Version featuring Character{s} Toshiko Takenouchi & Sora Takenouchi + Important Quotes & Dialogues + Familial {Sub}-Arc
{Mrs. Toshiko Takenouchi, Fondly} “That one...”
“That’s when I {understood},
My mother {loved me all along}.”
- Sora Takenouchi
I’ve picked up tennis recently. I play against Mom! Or, to be more exact, she’s teaching me how to play. She’s such a strict coach! (*laughs*) She’s even harsher than when she teaches flower arranging. I didn’t know that Mom was in the tennis club in high school. I’ve also asked Mom how she and you first met. You were still in a university in Tokyo, and you met her while doing research in Kyoto… Yet, after you got married, you were relocated to a university in Kyoto just when you two had settled down in Tokyo. That’s ironic. And when Mom officially opened her flower office in Tokyo, she had to move again from Hikarigaoka* to Odaiba. But all of that wasn’t a coincidence. A lot of things have happened, but because of that, I was able to meet Piyomon. That’s what I believe right now. I’m sure your meeting with Mom wasn’t a coincidence either. I’m not sure about Jou-senpai’s big brother, but it’s possible that isn’t a coincidence either!
There might be SOME MEANING behind it. (*giggle*)
- Sora Takenouchi, writing a “Letter” to her Father, in track “Chichi e no Tegami” [“Letter To My Father”], taking place within October 2000 of Adventure canon timeline
*Hikarigaoka = “Heighton View Terrace” in the US dub, in the Japanese original, Japan location “Hikarigaoka” is the original location of the setting the Chosen Children lived pre-Odaiba. {In U.S. Localizations, this was changed to “Heighton View Terrace”, but in Japan, Hikarigaoka is a real world location.} It was where the Adventure Chosen all originally lived before their families eventually wound up moving to Odaiba later on, all at a similar timeframe. The story would eventually give the reasoning it was due to the destruction of the Hikarigaoka bridge, which occurs during the 1st Adventure movie, “Digimon Adventure (1999)”. {Or, the movie with a younger Taichi, Hikari, and the so called, ‘original’ Greymon or Koromon & Agumon.} Here, Sora also hints, “There might be some meaning behind it” {their Adventure having happened the way it did}.
