You dont need to know someone with DID, NPD, schizophrenia, etc to care about people’s rights and reject ableism. Everytime I mention being respectful towards DID someone asks who I know with it. And the worst part is that the person asking does know someone with DID - they know me and they’ve just made it very clear how they feel about it. So act like one of your friend has a “scary” mental illness because someone you have interacted with probably has one and even if they dont? You should still care
