Actually horrified when under posts made by people with autism or other neurodivergent people who are proud of it and trying to spread awareness about its symptoms, people comment shit like “you’re obviously faking it because I have autism and I’m embarrassed about it, no one would actually expose themselves like this” like bro not everyone beats themselves over the head with self hatred??? And it’s not your business to spread that hatred to others???

Those kinds of people get blocked. I’m autistic, I’ll feel however the hell I want about it. They don’t have to surf my blog if they can’t stand seeing people being happy.

"we can talk about [x] when we've fixed [y]!!!" or, novel idea: we can & should care about multiple things at once. you can't be selectively humanitarian - that isn't how activism works.

learn how to multitask or, at the very least, stop shaming people who do have the capacity to tackle multiple sociopolitical issues simultaneously.

You’re allowed to define yourself in vague or unspecified terms if you want to. You’re allowed to use broad labels or no labels at all.

I get that this is a very understandable mix up and the words are similar, but the terms to describe an asexual person’s attitude towards engaging in sex are not “sex positive”/“sex negative,” the words you’re looking for are things like sex favorable, interested, averse, repulsed, etc., sex positive and negative are social stances, sex positive meaning being in favor of things like accessible birth control and comprehensive sex education and sex negative meaning being against those and thinking of sex as something inherently deviant, perverse, and shameful. again, this is an understandable mistake to make, but things can get real hairy if people start associating asexuality with sex negativity.

You’re not responsible for the attitudes of bigots. Them choosing to see you as a stereotype, or to twist your experiences to use against a marginalized community is not your fault.
