Authors Notes: I guess I’m making this a mini series because there is just way too much for me to feel good about making it one post. I didn’t proof read a ton so excuse any spelling issues. I just really wanted to start to get this out.

 This whole thing was inspired by @bucky-plums-barnes Halloween day, yesterday. So…here it is lol

AU: Vampire

Word count: 1.5K

Notes/Warnings: angst, spying, minor violence, 

He was cold. He was always cold. His life beyond death had stripped him of ever being warm again. He walked through the rainy streets of the city with his hands in his pockets and his head down; there was nothing new for him to see anyways. He walked this street every night. He wasn’t sure why, but he did.

When Bucky was turned it was on a night similar to this one. The rain pelted his face as he’d lain on the ground dying. He had crossed the wrong kind of men and would pay for it with his life. As his vision faded, he’d felt someone lift him from the ground. He thought perhaps the stranger would take him to the hospital, or be merciful and kill him then as the pain was becoming unbearable.

Instead, he survived. If you call this life surviving.

He listened to the street. Hearing people argue drunkenly or kissing in an alley, a car speeding past on the almost vacant road. Bucky tugged the collar of his coat closer to his neck. It didn’t do anything to keep out the cold but he’d at least look human if anyone was paying him attention.

A group of girls flooded the sidewalk in front of him and he had to break the rhythm of his walk in order to avoid colliding into them. He grumbled under his breath about the inconvenience but stopped short when a ray of sun warmed his cheek.

Authors Notes: Hi, guess what fic is back from the dead (Ironically)? Yeah, that’s right, I finished it. Thank freaking goodness. I’m actually planning on finishing the other two series I left in the dust. But for now, here is the conclusion to this one. (Almost a year later. *facepalm*)

AU: Vampire

Word Count: 2.3k ( I know this is long but I did not want to split it into two parts and risk going months before finally posting it again. SO, here is the rest of the story, I hope you are all satisfied with it.)

The time for discovery and romance was over. Now, as they lingered in the back lot of a warehouse building, the tension and gravity of the situation had them all solemn.

 Bucky shifted his weight and looked across the river to the bars where Brocks men kept their eyes out. “Okay, I can see four of the men you described. I think it’s time you went over there.”

 Y/N crossed her arms over her stomach, she was nauseous with nerves. “Okay.” She sighed. 

 “You sure you want to do this?” Tony asked. 

 “I’m sure. I want this over. He’s tormented me long enough.” She nodded.

 Bucky placed a hand at her back. “Let’s go then.”

As fast as they’d left, they stopped. Bucky let go of her waist but kept her from stumbling from the sudden distance.

“What are you?” She heaved as she pushed from his side. “Are you like me?”

“No.” He sighed. “Why did you go to Brock?”

“He knows about me. Knows that I-”

“You’re different.” Bucky finished. “Yeah, I know why you went to him but I mean why you? Why didn’t you ask for help?”

(Y/N) chuckled as tears welled in her eyes from the stress and adrenaline of it all. “Like who? I don’t have any family and no one other than Brock knows about me- and even him finding out was an accident.”

“And me. I know about you.” He corrected. He hated to see her cry but hated that he cared. He’d just met her, and without actual introductions, why should it bother him to see her cry?

Kate, this series seriously stuck with me even when I couldn’t read it. It’s been kinda simmering in the back of my mind (May and Bucky have a tendency to do that, too - I think that’s about due for a reread).

I love their connection, even if they resist it and don’t understand it. And the way they defend and protect each other as though by instinct is just *chefs kiss*

I still have a theory on what she is (and this time around o actually get to find out!!!!!)

Ok, so I read the first few parts of this when it first came out, and I LOVED it. Then life happened and I wasn’t able to get back to it, but I promised myself that I would. Now, looking at a 7 month break from school and done with the holidays, now is my time. I’ve been so excited to read it that it’s the first series I’m reading for @beccaanne814 ‘s reblog challenge. And here I go. I. AM. READY.

And this piece? Just the first part in and I’m just as taken with it the first time I read it. And I can’t wait to read more and finally finish it! Kate, you were able to build a visceral atmosphere in the span of 1.5k words and it’s amazing. I am intrigued by the reader and of course I never have ANY complaints about vampire!bucky. I mean, c’mon. It’s vampire!bucky.

“Legend has it that there can only be one alive at a time.”Tony explained. After Tony finally told them what she was they’d gathered in the library to see proof of his findings. “You live for a few centuries and then, in one last bang, your time ends. You really are quite remarkable. You literally expel light as hot as the sun. That’s probably what Bucky and I feel when you glow. Have you tried doing that around humans?”

(Y/N) shook her head.

“Don’t. It may burn them if they are too close to it too long.” Tony’s warning was stern but gentle. “It does have some radioactive qualities to it. Obviously there is something different about your light versus Earth’s sun because Bucky and I can’t get near those rays. Not quite sure the answer to that one yet but, hey, I’ve only had 20 hours. I’m sure I’ll figure it out.”

(Y/N) flipped through the book on human novas in awe. “How could I not know?”

“My guess is that since there’s only one of you, you don’t really have people who you can talk to about it. Not like there’s a way to know who the next one will be..” Tony shrugged.

“This book says she’s a child of Zeus.” Bucky’s brows were pulled tight as he read.

Ahhh, this was good!

I like how obnoxious Brock it makes him the perfect counterpart to Bucky. How taunting he is reminds me of that scene in CA: The Winter Soldier where he fight with Sam but before he does so he monologues about Hydra greatness, or the scene at the beginning of CA: Civil War when he taunts Cap about Buck before blowing himself up. So kudos to you! You are writing him right on spot too! That’s amazing!

I love Tony’s gentle and kind of fatherly behavior with the reader when Bucky dashes away and she believes he is mad to her. And I really appreciate you have decided to portrait also this (very important) side of Tony and not only his grandeur, witness and excentricity. Thank you!

And what to say about Bucky! Well he is adorable! Just perfect! I can see all of his traits in your writing. When he speaks with Brock he is more of the Bucky of the Winter Soldier era and post, but then later that last scene, that scream Bucky Frome the first scenes of CA: The First Avenger. The dancing, yes of course, was a direct nod to that movie. But the little mischievous trick…That was gold! It really reminds me of that fresh and playful relation that there was between him and Cap in the 40’s.

Ahhh, I really can’t stop saying how much I love this. The story is endearing and the characters characterization is always right on spot, it’s perfect. I can see everything I love about the MCU charters in your writings and it’s amazing!

And the supernova story… Well, I sure wasn’t expecting something like that!!! It has surprised me! And I love it! Plus the living for few centuries and then going off with a bang… Well it makes me think that there could be more drama in the future. Lol I really love this story!
