Excerpt from the book 'Pre-Covenant Oral Traditions' by G. J. Baqī

A version of a myth, potentially a fable aimed at children, originating from the Eden area. The consensus has been that this is a retelling of the events which led to the actions of Lilith and the creation of demons. However, recent archeological evidence suggests that the this myth predates Lilith's birth.

If say they took a uquiz, which sailor senshi would each Šehhinah character be? (i was thinking about some of the stuff I've seen about how Šehhinah is very in dialogue to shoujo anime in some ways and became curious)

the issue with this is that the sailor senshi aren't that archetypal! you'd be better off asking their shoujo hair colors lol.

shoujo hair colors: i think eliya is blond just like in canon;

tamar's a white haired anime boy, but a girl, and girl versions of this archetype don't have white hair. black is possible, close to canon

yenatru would probably just get to have green for his-theme-color reasons

celyet's actually a decent canditate for a white haired anime girl (totally different archetype from white haired anime boy), but black + hime haircut is plausible

ēshva possibly could end up as an electric blue

yairēn's a classic brown

teśena may fit ~purple?

kjorel..... uh. maybe just going with black is okay.

uhhh i don't want to leave you with nothing for your actual question but uhhhhh

edit: WAIT on second thought anime hair au lucifer would change to the opposite of the hair vibes not just the gender. that would be really funny.

is the glow of kjorel's skin supposed to have a particular color, in your intent or mental image? i've been picturing blue-ish but idk that this is especially incisive or imaginative, it might just be influenced by the book's cover

oooh! I actually don't have a particular intent for this!

Stalking and the Glory of God

(this is the prequel story to my Šehhinah trilogy, edited slightly in line with the first book's 2023 edits; if you'd prefer to read this on an ereader go here)

7,419 words

A hot wind rushes through the streets of Ēnnuh; it picks up dust nestled between the pebbles in the streetside succulent beds and blows it right into Tamar’s face.  She closes her eyes, trying to shield herself—and almost immediately bumps into someone walking down the same cobblestone.  Closing her eyes wasn’t the best idea.

Tamar, it turns out, is very good at bad ideas.

do you have any especially šehhinahcore album recommendations? 👀

been sitting on this for a while bc I don't think I have any entire albums that fit the entirety of šehhinah, instead I have stuff like

same anon as before but adding my two cents to a previous one about the sehhinah cities! from a combination of very long ago childhood visits and geography special interests, my 'city faceclaims' would go this way: one of the closest matches to ennuh i think may be dubai (or even abu dhabi depending on the river situation); the closest to eden likely aleppo (especially before the war, unless the sand dune caused even more disruption than thought) though the surrounding area seems closest to morocco, so perhaps some amount of casablanca. and the closest to akal-ne, while i've never been there or even close, Ulaanbaatar looks just like i can imagine such a city to look, with its location, ger districts, and wide roads and spaces. however I don't know if there's anything even remotely like askannan at that scale in the real world at all, the somewhat famous Ganvie, Benin reminds me of, but is lake-focused. the fact there's nothing like this is a huge pity, because floating/stilt cities would be a great idea for coastal areas in the 21st centurye

🤗

of these, ulaanbaatar is probably the only one that may have had some active inspiration!

was talking to a friend and said: "if holies were real , if theurgy were real -- its all the exact kind of stuff (albeit in a different framework, i never considered the religious idea) that i desperately wanted, to be known/changed/irreversible/etc, and the fact that it's not a description of our world but that it feels just touchable enough to evoke in me a Want that i haven't felt since i got over [wishing that soulmate AUs were real in 8th grade]....it's something"

so consider this a positive review of your work!

ah!!! 🤗

i have a weird question and i’m not sure how to phrase it in a way that isn’t in itself a spoiler to anyone reading it. so idk. answer this in whatever format you like.

.

.

.

well anyway. so i recently saw a post on here, about how the earth’s core might secretly have blobs of That planetoid, from the Moon-creating-collision. although even if that’s untrue, there’s the fact(?) that the moon is made mainly out of earth-material, but only Due To Being Impacted By [Planetoid]. evidence of the planetoid’s touch. and there’s a nickname — ‘little moons’.

how do i phrase this. was the ambiguous spoiler at the end of sehhinah intended to mirror the ambiguous spoiler at the end of the size of the world, or is this just some kind of coincidence, or is it not quite either, but an emergent property of your themes and inclinations as an author cropping up twice in different directions.

i think emergent property is closest, yes

List of places to get the Šehhinah trilogy

Since I've revised two out of three of the Šehhinah books, here's a list of information about how to get the right editions of The Stars That Rise At Dawn, The Birds That Fly At Dusk, and The Lives That Argue For Us. I'll have this info on my website when it's up and running, but in the meantime, all info should be in this pinned post.

Where to review: goodreads / itch /storygraph / amazon

EBOOK

The ebook should be the updated version everywhere you can purchase it. However, if you've bought the old edition before and would like a free revised ebook, or are having trouble getting the file to update, the first two books (the ones that have been revised) are pay what you want on itch, or you could shoot me an ask and I'll send you a copy. You could also pirate it lol, but no promises it’ll be the right edition.

The Stars That Rise At Dawn: Amazon , Itch.io, and any of these online ebook stores The Birds That Fly At Dusk: Amazon, Itch.io, and any of these listed online ebook stores The Lives That Argue For Us: Amazon, Itch.io, and any other listed online ebook stores

PRINT

For maximum info I'll put the isbn for revised print paperbacks in every bookstore and library OTHER than amazon, although I’m linking to B&N here for ease:

Amazon likes to have a proprietary special isbn of their own (lol) and also resellers love to flood the amazon listing with resells, some costing more than the original, for reasons I cannot understand. However, the price for each book should be $14.99 and the isbn and other amazon-specific info for the revised paperback editions are under the cut:

were the main cities shown in sehhinah (ennuh eden akal-ne and askannan) based off of any irl cities? or inspired by any other fictional city-concepts?

oh shit was I going to answer this months ago? oops

ennuh: uh. obviously in theory real middle east stuff but I haven't been there so in personal terms uhhh moab, UT but way, way bigger.

eden: nowhere I've been! other than in terms of general ecosystem/landscape/climate, which isn't that far off from ennuh's

akal-ne: ...denver, slightly? obviously also inspired by that other huge famous steppe, the big eurasian one

askannan: tropics in general but in practical draw-from-my-memories terms some parts of hawai'i (where I went to college)

....none of these places are as cool as their sehhinah counterparts though 😆

Re-polished The Stars that Rise at Dawn is live! Probably!

The ebook version, at least, from any of these listed distributors, should be the updated one. Again, the updates aren't extensive, but help with continuity with the rest of the series. As of 7/2/23 the paperback on Amazon should be updated, but any other paperback source may not be.

The current version should have a note like this at the beginning:

If you download it and it doesn't have that, or already have a copy and can't get it to update, just contact me, I'll send you the modern version.

Update: the updated print version is in fact available from Amazon, but only at this link.

It is not available from other distributors at this time.

The ebook version should be correct everywhere.

Details about how to find the correct, updated version (other than just clicking that link!) below the cut.
