List of places to get the Šehhinah trilogy

Since I've revised two out of three of the Šehhinah books, here's a list of information about how to get the right editions of The Stars That Rise At Dawn, The Birds That Fly At Dusk, and The Lives That Argue For Us. I'll have this info on my website when it's up and running, but in the meantime, all info should be in this pinned post.

EBOOK

The ebook should be the updated version everywhere you can purchase it. However, if you've bought the old edition before and would like a free revised ebook, or are having trouble getting the file to update, the first two books (the ones that have been revised) are pay what you want on itch, or you could shoot me an ask and I'll send you a copy. You could also pirate it lol, but no promises it’ll be the right edition.

Amazon likes to have a proprietary special isbn of their own (lol) and also resellers love to flood the amazon listing with resells, some costing more than the original, for reasons I cannot understand. DUNE 1984 VS VILLENUEVE DUNE* OBJECTIVELY CORRECT OPINIONS

*almost entirely based on pt 1 since I haven't watched pt 2, but have experienced some osmosis

things that r better abt villenueve

  • haunted jerboa paul who also actually looks paul's age
  • sometimes people aren't white. astonishing
  • the music
  • jason momoa duncan idaho. it is very important to have a duncan be a guy that the viewers already like and might theoretically understand why you would resurrect thousands of times. lynch's duncan was completely unmemorable which is really not the way to go.
  • i think the actual worm design?
  • any vibes at all from chani
  • objectively the pacing ig on the other hand it's less Vibe so is it really better.
  • doesn't have whatever tf lynch made up about the Killing Word or whatever, what even was that?

things that are better about lynch 1984 dune

  • actual navigators who look incredibly weird
  • costuming in general
  • architecture in general
  • just like, the concept that something can have an aesthetic? that isn't just 'looks 1 degree removed from modern and is also So Serious' ???
  • patrick stewart gurney, exact right guy for that
  • tiny child alia who is having the best time ever killing everyone
  • YOU CAN HEAR? THE DIALOGUE? AT ALL????

Found this utterly GORGEOUS creature stranded inside my workplace. Based on my own research on bugs found in eastern Iowa, it seems to be a flat bark beetle? Never heard of them before now but I am IN LOVE with their color.

a poll for the wing-havers

for me, my back has always felt much more sensitive than the rest of my body, to the point of feeling uncomfortable being touched there. sometimes when people touch my back i jump as a reflex, but not if they touch the rest of my body. i wanted to know if this is a common experience in wingedkin, so please answer the poll to satiate my neverending hunger for knowledge :}

I set my phone down on the couch next to my husband and after 30 seconds the sound randomly turned on. He thought it was funny so he just let it play. And repeat. After about the sixth or seventh time he looks up and goes "that's not Careless Whisper"

new bad drink dropped:

celestial seasonings morning thunder* tea bag + unspiced apple cider

*which, for the uninitiated, is itself comprised of black tea + yerba maté

methodology: 1/3 cup hot apple cider, 2/3 cup freshly boiled water, brew the tea bag in that.

you take a sip and it's at first kind of, normal bad. low in flavor. okay maybe a bit dishwater if you're feeling unkind. then the instant you swallow a clear taste of stevia--specifically stevia, which is NOT an ingredient present in the beverage--hits. as the aftertaste develops it presents a more and more striking resemblance to the taste you would probably experience if you licked a very dusty counter. perhaps a dirty or rotten apple peel? 0/10 don't drink this.
