Ok. I have a lot of feelings about this image. Too many. Way too many. But yes. I apologize in advance for hijacking your post!

Comic!Bucky is well established as being the one to do the things during the war that Steve couldn’t do but that were necessary. 

The kind of things that means that sometimes they didn’t sleep so well at night. And while ok, the films don’t follow the comics to the letter this image suggests that there are something that have crossed over. 

Dernier and Dugan are alert. Bucky is not. He trusts them to have his back but he looks lost in his own head. He’s gearing up for something, finding the right headspace and enough strength. The rest of the men have done their jobs, they’ve taken the territory,they’ve followed Captain America into a place where they never should have found victory and yet they have.

Now it is Bucky’s turn to do his job. To do the things that Steve can’t - shouldn’t - but that he can. And will. He has experience of these things. He’s been on the other side of them. 

And he’s very highly trained.
