My Lord of the Rings x Star Wars mash up piece.

Having worked for a few years on my medieval Star Wars project I decided to flip the idea for a fun experiment. This time moving the world and story of Middle Earth into a Galaxy Far Far Away.

I tried to include as much detail as possible into this piece and have since expanded the Trooper concepts to further include more variants and realms.

I’ve even mocked up an opening crawl for it:

EPISODE 1

Fellowship of the Jedi

A watchful peace! It has been thousands of years since the fall of the Dark Lord. The Sith Threat has long ago diminished, but their sinister influence still casts a shadow over the free peoples of the galaxy. A limited number of JEDI KNIGHTS struggle to maintain peace and order in the galaxy as the might of the Republic wanes.

Deep in the unknown Regions - DARTH SAURON is secretly rebuilding his armies and forging the ultimate super weapon, capable of crippling free will and dominating entire Star systems - BARAD DUR STATION. All the while he searches for the key to the stations activation, The SITH HOLOCRON.

In the unlikeliest of circumstances, A young Ewok named FRODO has come into possession of the Dark Lords Holocron. He now faces a perilous quest: aided by a fellowship of Smugglers, mercenaries and Jedi he must across the galaxy to destroy the Holocron before it’s too late…

501st Ghost Army

This is my Halloween contribution to the cw Fandom, even though it isn't really all that Halloween-y lol

I was just thinking about how cool the 501st would look in LOTR armor, and how sick the army of the dead is in Return of the King, and voila! Here we are, 15 hours of drawing later

Close ups (because they took forever and I'm proud of how they turned out)

I would have never thought of this, but it totally works. Not just because it looks cool, but in an angsty comparison way to.

The Army of the Dead are cursed because in the dark years they worshipped Sauron. When the good guys asked them to fight, they broke their oath that said they would, and were cursed for it.

Now the clones had been raised their whole lives to fight beside the Jedi. But when Order 66 happened, they broke that "oath" and turned on them. Now it wasn't their fault, but I could see them being cursed by their own guilt. They feel they have the unfinished business of righting that wrong before they can rest.

I like to imagine in this AU Anakin gets his head out of his butt and leads his old friends in battle one last time against Palpatine.

villains are hard to design. making them ugly is dangerous, depending on what traits you choose to frame as monstrous or undesirable, you could very well end up saying something fatphobic, racist, anti-semitic, etc

but if you make a hot villain then people will get thirsty and demand redemptions and refuse to acknowledge their evil actions, no matter how despicable

Solution: Full body armor and masks. You don’t see people shipping themselves with Sauron!

Nothing fails to crack me up like this post - the vain hope that somewhere out there is some awful nasty thing that there is not also a person whose kink that is, the idea that covering something up won’t make people obsessed with finding out what it looks like underneath, the surface level understanding of Sauron and complete lack of knowledge of the Silmarillion and it’s fandom, the fact that Sauron was canonically hot as fuck, the amount of Sauron erotica I have seen, God this post never gets old

Cloaked Rex sitting at the bar and the Watcher in the Water-like creature living in the wreck of the Venator was the freshest Lord of the Rings content we’ve gotten in a while.
