Schmendrick had stopped walking, but had not turned again. “All I know,” he said, “all I have ever known, is that there is just enough magic in me to do me no good.”

(From the collection Sleight of Hand)
“Barbed wire,” he gasped. “You pile of stones, you waste, you desolation, I’ll stuff you with misery till it comes out of your eyes. I’ll change your heart into green grass, and all you love into a sheep. I’ll turn you into a bad poet with dreams. I’ll set all your toenails growing inward. You mess with me.”

So going to see The Last Unicorn in a theater was great! I got lost(as I do) and missed the very start of the movie...but its not like I didn't know what happened and really it was a small part. Still totally worth the drive.
I panicked a bit last minute and did a little sketch on the title page of my book, like...literally threw it down on there before hopping in the shower and jetting out the door. So its preeeetty rough but turned out alright considering circumstances, I got it signed so eee <3 I also got a little piece of the movie, due to the whole 'the raven sent me' promotion bit they did. I tried to take a picture but its hard to see...the scene is with Molly on the ground holding Amalthea after she's just been changed into a human, Schmendrick standing beside them.
I totally want to go again when they get back around to this area in a few months time! One of you will be conned into coming with me, I assure you...we'll see who, but I'm not above bribery.
If you're going to see an author you like...really like, and possibly try to get them to sign one of their books. Is it terrible form for that book to be a bit banged up? Like I got it originally from a used bookstore and Savvy might have gotten to it when he was a puppy and chewed the back cover...and Bindi might have gotten to it and slightly mauled the corner of the front cover. But its still my book? And my favorite and...I don't want to offend - but.

AND
We booked these shows kind of last-minute (okay, really last minute) and we want to make sure that even without our usual flyering and phone calling and emailing we can still get the word to everyone in the LA/ SD areas that we’re on the way. If you know anyone in those areas and you could share our posts or just give your friends the ticket links to their area we’d be very grateful. And if you’re in the LA/ SD area we can’t wait to meet you! We’re also still taking volunteer applications for the tour stops, so remember to email MidnightCarnivalRingmaster at Gmail if you want to help us out and work with Peter for a night!
Going to the Murrieta showing tomorrow <3

Oh, more people than not have some magic, they just forget about it. Children use it all the time—what do you think jump-rope rhymes are, or ball-bouncing games, or cat’s cradles?
