Hello @thelien-art I saw your DTIYS and I was instantly inspired to do a quick celebrian x elrond because it's super cute and also I've... never actually drawn them together? blasphemy
This was super fun but shading clothing defeated me. I definitely tried to keep the really cool flowing shapes you had for the hair and clothing folds. I made the bg pink whilst sketching and then committed too hard, now it's shojou romance time

I’ve often seen Celebrian’s choice to sail presented as a metaphorical death, and it is in one way (the fridging way lol).
But another way of viewing it is Celebrian choosing life. Her options are to fade or to sail to Aman, and she chooses to sail in hopes of healing and life. It’s very brave, in its way: healing is difficult and she has been so hurt and in hopes of living she leaves for a land she’s never been, a land where she knows no one (or no named character, at least. Well, she probably met Pengolodh at some point?), a land where the family she has by blood is not family by personal knowledge. But she wants to live and is willing to confront whatever she must to do so.

This serves only as a bit of head cannon, since I think I remember Tolkien writing Elves don’t usually do marriage ceremonies (?), but I just like the idea that if they did have some sort of ceremony Celebrían and Elrond had it at night, so in a way, his father could be present as well.
