Update time! Inktober creature funsies, days 5-8. I have a thing for lizard based designs.
Joining Tengu bandwagon! I craved something feathery ;) Bonus: Three years later! Sponsored by ArenaNet.
Doodle between commissions :) White Lanner from FFXIV
More bird-to-gryphon digital art studies. Photo references used.
I've been back to Guild Wars 2 with my friends lately. Last time I played was probably very early 2013. We are having a blast, but still... Today managed to squeeze in something in between commissions. Well. I still have hope. If you look at the picture and played game yourself you probably know what I mean ;)
Inktober day 27 - Lammergeier
Something a bit more simple today. Tried to play more with a brush than pen and sadly today I didn't have as much time like in other days. Still I like mixture of brushy ink with some color. I just need to put some more time into learning this technique more. Lammergeiers are special to me. Many people feel mental bonds and connections with canines, felines or equines of varied kinds, but for me those particular birds have been most fascinating. There is something peculiar about them. They merge bird-like features and reptilian ones in such curious way. Those guys remind me of dinosaurs and dragons while being wonderful birbs.

More progress on Crow. I will finish it rather soon now :)
Raven turned into crow. Still long way to go, but I will get there :)
Lammergeier colored pencil study. On last livestream we had nice conversation about materials and techniques. I pulled out my pencil case and was wondering if I can still use them. Maybe it's not super-hyper-amazing, but I am very pleased! :) My favourite bird species :D Also, in background you can see proud head of little Waxwing I made as warm up.
Colored pencils... YAAAAY :D
These are just photos, I may scan final version and eventually upload it later. Enjoy little step-by-step.
Yes, trying to learn something and gain portfolio study part ready ;D It's rather quick one made during last livestream session. I'm quite pleased by effect, even if it lacks some details in coloring. Yes, I couldn't help myself and I NEEDED to color it in my own way and pattern rofl Anyway, important part: Anatomy and pose was heavily referenced from this photo made by W0lle. All credit goes to this guy and his incredible photos.
