6.6.2019 || Rome, Italy, where the streets smell like jasmine on summer nights

this makes me so happy. i did an exchange program in milan for a few weeks to study fashion and i’ve never experienced something like it since. the way the streets stayed warm after dark and the air smelled sweet and fresh, mixed with the occasional cigarette smoke. the streets were crowded long after the sun set, as the city came alive at night. it was so perfect. the birds would chirp in the mornings as I sat alone on the rooftop terrace sketching designs for the day ahead. in those early few hours when the sun rose, weary travelers would stumble through the cobblestone streets, their suitcases rattling behind them in anticipation. ahh i would do anything to be in milan again, with the people that i used to live with.
