2014 vs 2020
A screenshot comparison of my original GW2 trio, and how their looks have changed since 2014. Seeliah has probably overgone the biggest makeover because I just love how a lot of those exclusive sylvari hairstyles and faces look like

GW2 fanart from last year, I thought I might as well reupload it since I deactivated my old blog. :o Sylvari are cool!
I was wondering if you could help me come up with some Sylvari names on GW2? Are there any that you didn't use?:))
I’m afraid I didn’t think of that many extra names – not ones that were available anyway, lol. But let’s see… Many Sylvari names in the game draw inspiration from Welsh/Irish origins, so anything that sounds similar should work. Take a look at this page, there are lots of links that might be helpful.
Personally my first instinct when choosing a name for my Sylvari was to go googling for plant names, the Latin ones specifically. There could be many which might work as a fantasy-ish name (Laurus, Amarum, Salix, Linnaea, Helianthus, Alliaria etc.) Here’s one list with some pretty neat choices. Bonus points if the Sylvari actually looks like the plant in question. ;)
I myself went for Seeliah which sounds a lot like Finnish word selja (which means “elder/elderberry” in English). So if availability becomes an issue you could always try to switch a letter or two, and try again.
I hope that helps a bit!
More GW2 characters because I can
Seeliah, my sylvari ranger and her fern hound Beacan
My Guild Wars 2 characters so far:
Kristabel - level 80 human mesmer
Seeliah - level 35 sylvari ranger
Trisca Daggerclaw - level 4 charr thief
A quick Sylvari painting - I really like the design of this race and I just had to take a stab at those hair branch thingies... :D
