Oh man, I don’t know if Naomi is ready for Spirited Away yet? Remember that she is three years old. She gets scared and overwhelmed easily, so I’ll have to wait on that a bit. There were some people seriously suggesting she watch Grave of the Fireflies and though I loved that movie and I know it's a critically acclaimed film necessary for anyone’s viewing at some point…BUT I’m like: GUYS…C’MON …RIGHT NOW?

Now that she finished Totoro, my plan is to show her Kiki’s Delivery Service and slowly ease her into something like Castle in the Sky. 

Maybe Spirited Away definitely when she’s a tad older.And then afterwards: GLTAS too *cough* >:3

I just wish I was as cool and sexy as the sign and the illustration described, instead of being a sad flailing nerd potato. Though the entire thing about controlled-but-intense emotion is totally accurate forever because my life includes flailing from undigested passion and emotions over hilarious things I would not reveal on facebook. YES. I love Scandinavian folktales, man. My friend, who is Finnish/Saami heritage, would have loved this movie if it weren't for the heavy dismemberment of central themes in the original story like Gerda doing the rescuing and adding DAT comical sidekick. I don't think she wants to see it now though :/I still want to have hope for it though. People also seem to forget having Scandinavian setting and characters are everywhere and Walt Disney made a lot of stories that were originally set in Italy/Southern European but then inserted more Northern/Germanic influence on it back then?Like I said: I love you Disney but with the power you have, I know you are capable of more.

It always seems strange to me that the people who are most upset about other people talking about their culture, are the people insecure about their own?I had a friend I had to explain this same issue (about not being dismissive of other people's cultures if you don't belong to them) and then she went " Yeah, I don't have a culture :'C". Like, I wish I could have told her: "Yo, this isn't a special clubhouse we are willingly excluding you from. We are just asking for respect, why so resentful?? Like you may even have a culture, everyone does, and you're just not aware of it?"Also your friend may want to visit: Yo Is this Racist?

Issue#8 GLTAS comic is AMAZING. It costs the same as a coffee drink and I just love everything in it. The art: the lines, the color HOW THEY LOOK ON MODEL, I want to eat the comic art with a spoon and whipped cream. The story: HOMGG I don't want to spoil things but it's JUST LIKE THE SHOW in quality and foreshadowing and characterization.It is good.YES.

I NEED TO WATCH MORE EPISODES OH GOD. I probably haven't gotten to the meaty parts of the story yet.

But I just feel this great sense of levity from watching it and being immersed in the environments!!?!?!!The atmosphere and lighting they did in the show is really getting to me. THOSE FRENCH ANIMES MAN, a friend asked if it was because of GOBELINS OR SOMETHING. I WOULD NOT DOUBT THAT.Not only that but the music is just reminding me of that spirit of adventure from 90's anime? Also Molly ILU, she fights and works so hard to prove herself aasdklfjjjj her relationship with her dad AHHHHHHWhat a good show ; - ;
