**POSSIBLE SPOILERS** Okay….I friggan LOVE Aya, she’s just perfect. I needed a break from commission stress so I did this up over a few nights in my spare time. Originally I drew her normal version and last min decided to do Anti-Aya (anti monitor Aya) for the fun of it…now I like it infinitely more, it turned out so much stronger and more interesting than the original. Well POOP. I’d really love to draw Saint Walker and Razer if I get some time. This show is just too wonderful I CAN’T HANDLE IT. SO MANY GORGEOUS ALIENS.

Aya was not fridged for the sake of Razer's manpain nor did she go evil because Razer said he does not love her
Cold Fury was mostly about her, her feelings for her whole crew, her issues with handling emotions, the sacrifices she was willing to make to protect her family and the result of 20 episodes of people telling her she was just a “machine/robot/not cut to be a gl”.
yeah, I’m sad that the crew is a boys club now but this doesn’t mean Aya is not a character with agency

I feel like her death was sort of handled with more grace than things I've seen. It was mostly about her determination to do what she wanted, save Razer, and I think it's how she'll be handled in the next few episodes bUT YES I DEMAND HER BACK. Not saying it wasn't a fridging per say, buttt it was much better than other things. Sorta made me think of Kara's death to the anti monitor. I always talk too much omg I'm sorry

Like I know a lot of us Gltas fans are legit upset about what happened, and fridging of ladies is a serious problem in comix stories and like EVERY STORY where "Ladies Die, Men Go on Adventures" but WOWOWOW I KNOW IT WAS SO DIGNIFIED AND THEY TRIED TO SAVE EACH OTHER?!??!IM STILL GONE.

So far my favorite part about GL:TAS is how the team appreciates and respects Aya.
Even from the beginning, from the first time she spoke they have treated her as an asset to the team, have entrusted her with many things that jeopardize their well-being and things that could inhibit their ability to return home; and they’ve done it gladly and with assurance that no one else could perform the task better.
They have never once treated her as a.) expendable, because she is a robot, or b.) incompetent, because she is a woman. And I think that speaks volumes for the maturity and sensibility for those in the show and those who created it.

I just finished watching the Reboot Episode yesterday. I’m watching one ep. a day so that I could savor how good this show was written. I do jump episodes though.(I already saw Prisoner of Sinestro.)

In which I mainly fangirl over Aya because she is beautiful and fantastic
I have so many feelings about yesterday’s GLTAS episode. A lot of which from from the fact that this show, this ostensibly Saturday morning cartoon, explored themes and ideas and said more in twenty minutes about what it means to truly be alive, said more about the complexities that come with being alive and being an actual individual person than series do in their entire run. It did it so well and it gave voice to characters and experiences that are so rarely acknowledged.
