Aggravation vent list.

This is going to be about "photographers" but  can go ahead and assume that everyone has something that could have people like this involved.

1. Do not copy what i do. Inspiration and taking ideas and twisting them until you get something you enjoy is awesome! Do not literally fucking geo track where i was just to try to get stupid views on your photos.

2. Personal pet peeve, Last name first name or vice versa photo companies. You have one chance if you are serious to make an impression and leave who ever it is that sees your name something to think about. How often do you remember every first and last name you read. its boring.

3.Invest in the correct things before you go and waste your money on things you do not use correctly except on rare occasions.

4.GLASS. BUY LENSES. Stop thinking that just because your rebel from walmart isnt on the shelf anymore means it is garbage.

5. Learn about everything you can and never think that you are done learning, I know i am not the worst person in the world with a camera but i also know i will never stop leanring new things about photography every single day.

6. Do not message a photographer and ask them about what they shoot with down to an exact list. Its so fucking annoying and the second you do i honestly believe you have no creative ability to make your own choices about where your money (or your mothers money) goes. Plus i have saved for years and years and worked for most of the gear i have now.

7. Do not act like every single thing you shoot is the best thing since sliced bread. You hanging around taking photos of your town with some bokeh (blurry hipster cool awesome tubular backround) doesnt make you a pro or decent with a camera at all. I am not saying you should not experiment with all different types of photography but know where you are experience wise and respect others .

8.The Canon vs. Nikon battle...They are both great pieces of equipment and if you have a canon rebel with an 18-55 or a nikon d(thousandsomnething) i do not want to see or hear one word out of your mouth. When you can make a camera do such amazing things then open your mouth. Opinions are opinions.

9. Do not make a photography page and just post everything willy nilly. If you are serious enough to make a photography page you shouldnt make it look like a mess. Be responsible with it.

10.Have fun with it. Do not ever let a shot escape on purpouse or because you dont feel comfortable. Use what you have to its most full extent before jumping into other gear and when you do make sure its because it is going ti lead you in the direction you want to go, not the direction others would like you to take. BE appreciative and let other photographers know if you like there stuff! i know personally that it really helps when in a creative slump.

11.Respect others. Do not think because you have a better camera you are a better photographer because for all you know they could end up having the gnarliest camera in that bag and they are experimenting with something simpler, like film.

12. SHOOT AT LEAST ONE ROLL OF FILM.

13.Market yourself correctly if photography seems to be one of the things you want to do in the long run. Be sure people know what your strong points are. A mixed bag can often lead to confusion and that makes people skip right over you and onto the next.

14. Do not get permabummed over someone being better than you! You will always be learning and as long as you remember that you will reach that level through time. The better the understanding the faster you will learn.

15. Finally i just want to say, let your photos be reflection of who you are. Let a piece of you go in each photo. If you want to be some famous photographer from the get go. Dream big but plan to be discouraged. Professional photographer does not mean talented photographer. And lastly have inspiration not replication.

                                          Sincerely,

                                             Johnny Costa from Isahermit Photography
