On Fascists
When you silence someone’s viewpoint because you don’t agree with it, you are carrying out a fascist act. To be fascist is to suppress opposition and criticism.
If you don’t want to be a fascist, have a discussion or debate. Try to see the other viewpoint and ask that the other person also consider your viewpoint. You may not change their mind(s), but you have created a dialogue which will take you much further. However, you have to be open to the possibility that you are in the wrong and it may be you who has to change their viewpoint.
No one likes admitting their wrong though, and seeing the viewpoint of the other side isn’t easy. Most people are lazy and want the easy route, which leads to silencing those they don’t agree with and becoming a fascist.
