Thoughts on Thor Love & Thunder

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS - Ye Be Warned

1) The music did not match the film. Considering how great the soundtrack was for Ragnarok, it was a let down in comparison. They didn’t slow or speed up the action to match the beat as with Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song, and none of the choices worked with the film. Welcome to the Jungle by Gun N’ Roses and Only Time by Enya were strange choices.

2) I didn’t hate Mighty Thor but there was ZERO CHEMISTRY between Thor and Mighty Thor. It felt forced and unnecessary. 

3) Everything was overtly sexualized. I wish it was subtler, less in your face. 

4) Gorr the God Killer would have seemed more of a threat if he had been a 2 part villain, winning in this film so Thor’s character could grow again to the hero you want him to be instead of a joke.

5) I am totally here for the bad acting troupe and they were honestly the best part of this entire film. I am 1000% behind keeping this gag going.

After everything that happened in Ragnarok, imagine Thor hearing about Steve and Tony’s fight and being like “Really?! Thats why you all stopped working together?! Just get over it! I did! I’m still friends with Loki and he’s betrayed me three times since breakfast! This petty mortal shit is nothing!”

Steve: “Well, we disagreed about this big political thing, and I mean big - almost every country in the world was involved.” Thor: *nodding* “Right.” Steve: “So we started to fight, I mean really fight.  We each had about half a dozen friends backing us up.” Thor: *nodding* “Always best to bring your friends along” Steve: “And by the end, it was just me and Tony, and we… we really pounded each other…. no holding back.” Thor: *nodding* “The most honorable way to fight” Steve:  “So now we’re not friends anymore.” Thor: “… you lost me.”

Just leaving this here:

the moment in which Thor first sees the Hulk in a gladiatorial arena and describes his as a “friend from work” came from an unexpected source.
“We had a young kid, a Make-A-Wish kid on set that day,” Thor star Chris Hemsworth tells Entertainment Weekly. “He goes, ‘You know, you should say, ‘He’s a friend from work!’” (x)

I love that Thor is adopting human/earth based colloquialisms and considers Avenging his day job. Like he’s an Asgardian prince but also commutes to another planet for work.

I love that a little kid delivered the single best line in any Marvel movie ever
