"You can credit Twitter for a lot of things, but one thing they nailed for sure: As a celebrity-moron revealer, it is second to none. Twitter is celebutard Luminal. It reminds us that no matter how rich and famous a celebrity becomes, their success never makes them smarter. As the bank account skyrockets, their IQ sinks like a doomed soufflé. And the beauty of it is that it's the celeb who's actually volunteering the proof of their idiocy."

"The first step in dismantling America's greatness is dismantling the idea that America was and is great to begin with. Just referring to yourself as an American has become silly, an act relegated to trailer parks and country music stars."

My name is Erin and I am an American.

"Ah yes...provocative! Whenever something really stupid is performed in an effort to score cool points, it's described as provocative. In common sense language, it translate into annoying, and pointless, and academic, and usually harmful."

"Celebrities argue against man-made stuff with their mouths, yet how ofter are their mouths the beneficiary of a man's heightened abilities to affect nature? Plastic bags: evil. Plastic surgery: good...If man-made things are so harmful, Meg Ryan's lips alone must be responsible for at least ten dead polar bears."

"This is a country so screwed up, they put price controls on toilet paper. This poses quite a risk, since Chávez fans like Penn and Moore are so full of shit. They're Porta Potties on legs."

Gutfeld is writing about about how when Hugo Chávez died, lots of liberal, American actors praised him and are completely oblivious to his totalitarianism.

In this chapter of Not Cool, Gutfeld discusses the idea that young people venerate radicals. I have seen this a lot from my time living in California, where hippies by the dozen have Che Guevara on their t-shirts spewing to everyone that walks by he freed Cuba. And he is right! People don't think about the murders he committed; the firing squads he set up to annihilate anyone who spoke out against the new regime.

I personally agree with Gutfeld when he says that individuals who toot this philosophy should be forced to meet with the people who were affected by these "leaders" whom they venerate. Would they still feel like he was a "champion of human rights" if they were ordered to be executed? No! They would finally wake up and smell the coffee or the pile dead bodies which their own would shortly join.

Even one step further, they should be made to live there. If you firmly believe that the Venezuelan government is better than our own, by all means please go live there. I will even pay for you ticket. I think they would have a very different view point after experiencing toilet paper shortages and everything else.

"The more people care about something far, far away, the less they care about their immediate surroundings–or the people they annoy within those surroundings. It's always the roommate who's obsessed with saving the orangutans whose personal hygiene is similar to one."

Truest statement in this book so far. I can attest to this after living in Humboldt County for 5 years and visiting my sister in Berkeley for the past 4 years.

"If you want to see how the failures end up, look at any ex-girlfriend of a major rock singer. They now look like William Dafoe, on a good day. You avoid that reality by not making a habit of saying yes to bad ideas just because they are cool."
