Who’s Holding Sway Over Your Kids? | Karol Markowicz | EP 355
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and Karol Markowicz discuss many of the topics found in her new national best-selling book, “Stolen Youth.” Together, they break down the current state of K-12 academia, the pornographic books being pushed into your child's hands, and the broader discussion we need to have about woke-ism in the West and where to draw the line. Karol Markowicz is a weekly columnist at the New York Post and FoxNews, a contributor at Spectator World, and a contributing writer to Washington Examiner magazine. She has written for USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Time, Forward, National Review, Daily Beast, Business Insider, Haaretz, and many others. She appears regularly on Fox News, Newsmax, OANN, and Fox Business Network and is featured frequently on national radio programs. Karol was born in the Soviet Union, grew up in Brooklyn, and now lives in Florida with her husband and three children.

Many New Yorkers will tell you openly to your face that local Democrats govern the city atrociously, if they don't know that you are a Conservative. But then they ask "what is the alternative, voting for a Republican?"
These are people who watched Rudy Giuliani's administration turn the city, in the 1990's, from an unkept violent mess (under a long succession of Democratic administrations) into a low crime model tourist destination. They watched Mayor Michael Bloomberg run as a Republican and successfully continue most of Giuliani's policies. Now in the space of a mere 6 years under Democrats again, they see that the city is barely recognizable; but they are confused about what should be done. Meanwhile the politicians that they voted for assure them that the city is absolutely fine; against their own personal assesments.
The blinding power of ideology is remarkable.

Twitter thread by Melissa Caruso about a labyrinthine magical bookstore in Syracuse, NY. Link to the first tweet in the thread; most pictures have image descriptions! Now here are the screenshots of that thread:
It’s in Saratoga Springs, as the last tweet says, not Syracuse! I was just there! Highly recommended!
Other wonderful bookshops include The Last Bookstore in Los Angeles, CA and Brattle Book Shop in Boston, MA.
Historical battle reenactments are both very educational and a lot of fun to either participate in or watch. The Battle of Plattsburgh, a historic battle that ended the British invasion of the United States during the war of 1812, is one such battle that is reenacted every year in the state of New York.
However, this year’s reenactment has been partially canceled due to the >new gun law< that was passed and went into effect on September 1st in the state of New York. The new law understandably has several reenactors scared with many canceling their planned appearances at the event.
New York’s Gun Laws Getting In the Way of Historical Reenactments?
The main trepidation for the would-be attendees of this event revolves mostly around verbiage within the new law that pertains to the carrying of firearms which includes black powder rifles.
Due to the way the law is worded, reenactors are worried that if they went through with the event they could get into trouble. Normally these reenactors not only replicate the Battle of Plattsburg but also demonstrate the various firearms and weapons that were used during the event to public audiences.
The following quote is from Tom Donahue who is the current President of the 1814 Commemoration Inc organization which puts on reenactments throughout the year.
“The new law the way it’s written reenactors are not allowed to carry a firearm, a musket loading type rifle, black powder rifle, flintlock rifle, whatever because it’s in violation of the new law.
The new gun law of New York state has claimed its first casualty: the Battle of Plattsburgh. It’s the first event happening after the new law went into effect on the 1st. There’s nothing in the law that let’s an exemption happen or a waiver happen for an event in a historical significance like we have here in Plattsburgh.
We have over 70 reenactors that were coming to this event. Very disappointing.[…]
Imagine having “common sense” gun laws so strict you ban firearms from two centuries ago.
it’s on purpose.
It’s pretty horrifying stuff.
Great. Now go after Biden for fondling little girls on national tv.

World Trade Center Station, Manhattan (No. 1)
World Trade Center is a terminal station on the PATH system, within the World Trade Center complex in the Financial District of Manhattan, New York City. It is served by the Newark–World Trade Center line on weekdays and holiday weekends, as well as by the Hoboken–World Trade Center line on weekdays, and is the eastern terminus of both.
The World Trade Center station is located near the site of the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad (H&M)’s Hudson Terminal, which opened on July 19, 1909. In 1961, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey bought the bankrupt H&M system, rebranded it as PATH, and redeveloped Hudson Terminal as part of the World Trade Center. As part of the construction of the World Trade Center, Hudson Terminal was torn down, replaced with the World Trade Center station, and re-opened on July 6, 1971. Following the September 11, 2001 attacks, a temporary station opened in 2003 while the World Trade Center complex was being rebuilt. Work on a permanent station building commenced in 2008. The main station house, the Oculus, opened on March 3, 2016, and the terminal was renamed the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, or “World Trade Center” for short.
The World Trade Center station has five tracks (three for Hoboken-bound trains, two for Newark-bound trains) and four platforms in the middle of a turning loop. Trains from New Jersey use the loop to turn around and head back to New Jersey. The platforms are located four floors below ground level. The floor immediately above the platforms is occupied by the station’s fare mezzanine. The New York City Subway’s WTC Cortlandt station is adjacent to and above the mezzanine.
The $4 billion Oculus station house, designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, consists of white ribs that interlock high above the ground. The interior of the station house contains two underground floors, which house part of the Westfield World Trade Center mall. The transportation hub connects the various modes of transportation in Lower Manhattan, from the Fulton Center in the east to the Battery Park City Ferry Terminal in the west, through the station house. The hub contains connections to various New York City Subway stations, including Chambers Street–World Trade Center/Park Place/Cortlandt Street on the 2, 3, A, C, E, N, R, and W trains and WTC Cortlandt on the 1 train. It is the fifth-busiest transportation hub in the New York metropolitan area.
The Westfield World Trade Center mall is also within the Oculus building. The new station has received mixed reviews: although the hub has been praised for its design, it has also been criticized for its high costs and extended delays.
