9,000 food stamp recipients dumped from rolls after Maine begins enforcing minimum requirements
Sorry, liberals. Food stamps are not “free money.” Some 9,000 Mainers are finding the welfare spigot has been cut off after the state began enforcing minimum requirements for recipients.

Gov. Paul LePage’s administration says more than 9,000 Maine residents have been removed from the food stamps program since it began enforcing work requirements last year. The number of people dropped from the program exceeded the administration’s expectations. Advocates say they fear it’s forcing more residents to rely on food pantries. Under the change, adults who are not disabled and do not have dependents cannot receive food stamps for longer than three months unless they work at least 20 hours a week, participate in a work-training program or meet volunteering requirements. A Department of Health and Human Services spokesman told The Associated Press that 12,000 nondisabled adults were in the program before Jan. 1. That number has dropped to 2,680.
It’s important to note here that all 9,000 of these former welfare recipients could still be receiving benefits if they would simply take the necessary steps to find a job or volunteer, but a whopping 75% of the non-disabled food stamp recipients have chosen to forgo the “free money” now that they have to actually lift a finger to receive somebody else’s hard-earned cash.
In reality, setting minimum requirements is a rather paltry step in rolling back the government’s massive welfare state. This kind of wealth redistribution shouldn’t exist in the first place.

For being a healthcare worker, Kaci Hickox is a moron. Ebola doesn't show up until the end of the 21 say period, and she saying she feels fine after only 3 days of being back in the states doesn't mean she will feel fine after 21 days back in the states. You would think a healthcare worker would know better than to say shit like this, but then again she works for the CDC. I should have known better than to expect reason and logic from her.
Point is, her quarantine is justified.
