Chemical Plant Leak Causes Mass Panic in Sichuan; 'Nothing to Eat' Goes Viral in China
In a district of Sichuan Province, there was a suspected gas leak from a chemical plant. Many citizens fled the city, after smelling a strong odor. On August 21, local resident Mr. Zheng told NTD that there was a thick pungent mist in the air in Wutongqiao District for three consecutive days.
Colleges and universities in the United States, meanwhile, have received warnings from the US State Department to divest from Chinese holdings in their endowments. Keith Krach, the undersecretary for economic growth, energy and the environment, wrote in a letter that boards of US university endowments “would be prudent to divest” from firms or stocks tied to China.
He said this was in the “likely outcome” that the firms may be delisted from US exchanges by the end of next year. He also asked the universities to “strongly consider publicly disclosing to your campus communities immediately,” all the Chinese companies that the university endowments are invested in.

I like how black activists consider Latin Americans to be ‘PoC’ when they need more people to boost the numbers on the victim complex bandwagon but the moment Latin American writers, directors, editors and actors get nominations when black people don’t, suddenly it’s #AllWhiteOscars and institutional racism.
Black activists try to huddle every other non-white race under the PoC umbrella in an attempt to rile up an ‘us versus white people’ mentality but the moment black people are perceived as being overshadowed or discriminated against, then the other ‘PoCs’ are shoved off the bandwagon and into the dirt. Latin Americans are ‘PoC’ until they get a nomination, then suddenly they’re white. Latin Americans are ‘PoC’ until one of them kills a black teenager in self defence, then suddenly they’re white. Latin Americans are ‘PoC’ until several of them run as Republicans, then suddenly they’re white. A film written, directed and shot by Mexican men won best picture last year but because Selma didn’t win anything, suddenly the ceremony was just a bigoted ‘white supremacy’ awards organisation. Do these self-righteous rich whiny crybabies have short term memory loss or something? Literally only two years ago, a film focused entirely on the evils of American slavery won several major Academy Awards, including best picture. Lupita Nyong’o won best supporting actress. John Ridley won best screenplay. Oh and a Mexican man won best director but I suppose he’s considered white because he beat a black director, huh?
The very idea of ‘PoC solidarity’ goes out the window when the black activist narrative is threatened. The narrative, to them, is maintaining the lie that the white man oppresses black people. Black activists very often throw other so called ‘people of colour’ under the bus when it suits them. In fact, the entire ‘PoC’ term is geared primarily towards black Americans. Not black people in general, just black Americans. It’s a highly Americanised term. The president of the Academy Awards is a black woman. It’s held in Hollywood, one of the most politically correct places on Earth. Do they seriously think it’s just a bunch of old white Confederate flag waving men sitting around detailing their wicked plans to oppress black people? Come on. Multi-millionaires are planning to boycott a multi-millionaire awards show in which multi-millionaires pat other multi-millionaires on the back, while drinking champagne that costs more than the average person’s car, all while revelling deep in the privilege offered by one of the most iconic cities in the world. Boo fucking hoo. Some people are dying of starvation you privileged fucks.
