given that world governments' responses to covid were by and large to do things that ran contrary to all prior pandemic guidelines and were actively harmful to people's health and increased the likelihood of deadlier variants appearing, and therefore were arguably designed to lead to as many deaths as possible both from the virus itself and from the collateral damage...

i can only conclude that those who want to bring the covid mania back are just mad that they haven't killed enough people yet.

“There are always those who are willing to surrender local self-government and turn over their affairs to some national authority in exchange for a payment of money out of the Federal Treasury. Whenever they find some abuse needs correction in their neighborhood, instead of applying the remedy themselves they seek to have a tribunal sent on from Washington to discharge their duties for them, regardless of the fact that in accepting such supervision they are bartering away their freedom.”

— Calvin Coolidge  (1872-1933)  U.S. president

He is the founder of the think tank the Centre for Social Cohesion, which is now part of the Henry Jackson Society. His publications include but are not limited to: “The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam (2017),” “The Madness of Crowds: Gender, Race and Identity (2019),” and most recently “The War on the West: How to Prevail in the Age of Unreason (2022)”. “The experience provided by history, especially by that of the last 200 years, has not shaken this belief in salvation by tyranny… Many of our contemporaries are firmly convinced that what is needed to render all human affairs perfectly satisfactory is brutal suppression of all “bad” people, i.e., of those with whom they disagree. They dream of a perfect system of government that — as they think — would have already long since been realized if these “bad” men, guided by stupidity and selfishness, had not hindered its establishment.”

— Ludwig Von Mises (1881-1973) Austrian economist
