JBP Reacts to Court Decision
California will soon become the first state to determine residents’ electricity fees based on their income as part of a new effort to spur households toward full electrification and bring down the state’s soaring electricity costs for low-income Californians.
Electricity bills are made up of fixed costs as well as fees that vary based on the amount of electricity residents use. Last year, the state passed a law giving the California public utilities commission a 1 July 2024 deadline to determine a fixed charge for household electric bills based on people’s income.
‘Misgendered’ Teen Runs Away and Gets Sex Trafficked
Our investigative reporter at The Daily Wire, Luke Rosiak, uncovered the sexual assault of a minor by a person who identified as a member of the opposite gender in a bathroom in Loudon County. Well, now Luke uncovered another gut-wrenching story. A 14-year-old girl ran away because her adoptive parents 'misgendered' her. It turned into a 6-month nightmare.
Hate to break it to you but the Jewish people are actually a very highly vaccinated demographic. Punishing persons who choose to be unvaccinated is in fact not equivalent to the persecution of an ethnic group.
You're right, I totally forgot bad things only happen to Jewish people
As dozens of people streamed toward safer ground, officials worried the pandemic could hamper evacuation efforts.
Gonsalves said people have to be vaccinated if they go aboard a cruise ship or are granted temporary refuge in another island. He said two Royal Caribbean cruise ships and two Carnival Cruise Lines ones arrived Friday. Islands that have said they would accept evacuees include St. Lucia, Grenada, Barbados and Antigua.
He said he was talking to Caribbean governments to accept people’s ID cards if they don’t have a passport.
“This is an emergency situation, and everybody understands that,” he said.
If it’s such an emergency that the government has waived passport requirements, why does not being vaccinated matter? Shouldn’t EVERYONE’S life be saved regardless of not having a passport or being vaccinated?
This is EXACTLY WHY I am against the government having access to your medical history, it will be used against you.
That’s Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. That’s because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.
Follow @the-future-now
This is really important and let me tell you why.
My mom has an iPhone 6 Plus and hasn’t even had it for a year when one day it suddenly died and would not charge. So she took it to an authorized Apple repair place and they charged her $50 for a diagnostic only to tell her that she would have to buy a brand new phone.
So she decided to go to the AT&T store to talk to our usual guy that upgrades our phones and handles any problems for us. She tells him what’s wrong and he takes her phone to the back only to come out two minutes later, puts her phone on charge and it comes back to life.
She asks him what was wrong with it that he managed to somehow fix when the people at the “authorized apple repair place” couldn’t. And you know what he told her?
“There was just a bit of fuzz in the charging port.”
I FUCKING KNEW IT. Listen, I have a MacBook from college. The charger has died twice, and I had to get a new one. This happened for two years in a row around the same time each year. I’m fucking convinced that their hardware is rigged to “expire” in order to force people to keep buying their shit.
Wait, people are just now learning that Apple has some of the shadiest business practices?
You know this isn’t really just apple, company’s do this all the time, everything is rigged to expire and all they want is your money.
Ohhh no no no, this IS JUST Apple.
All companies want you to buy their new products. None have gone to the lengths that Apple Inc. has gone to make end user repairs as impossible as is legally viable. I have been repairing electronics and computer systems privately, commercially and active duty in the US military for about 30 years.
Apple puts extra effort into special hardware requiring proprietary tools that are only legally produced by their licensed manufacturer and can only be purchased through licensed repair shops if at all.
Companies like iFixit can only exist as profit making companies because they are able to make workaround tools and kits that are still profitable but less of a blatant ripoff than Apple.
Apple has been doing this forever. The way Apple treats consumers is abysmal, and people still eat their products up.
This guy better watch out before Apple contacts Hillary to get in touch with her best hitmen.
I have had a recent experience like this only with my MacBook. So I called the store to set up an appointment and figure out what is wrong, and they told me they no longer work on “vintage Macs”. Um, excuse me? So I asked what constitutes a vintage Mac, and it is any laptop older than 7 years. I reply back “Okay, but mine is only six years old and therefore not vintage. When can I come in?” To which the apple tech replied “Oh your model is an exception. It is considered vintage”.
Long story short: Fuck you Apple, I am now the proud owner of a Surface Pro Tablet.
The United Nations (UN) has finally acknowledged that it played a role in the cholera outbreak in Haiti that began nearly six years ago, and has killed thousands of people, and infected almost 800,000.
The Secretary General of the UN, Ban Ki-moon, admitted for the first time last week that the organisation was involved in starting the outbreak, and “needs to do much more” to fix the problem.
But a confidential internal report obtained by The New York Times took things one step further, concluding that the epidemic “would not have broken out but for the actions of the United Nations”.
Oh, but wait. There’s more:
“Before 2010, Haiti hadn’t had a cholera outbreak in more than 100 years, but in 2010, the disease began appearing along the Meille River. It just so happens that it was shortly after a group of 454 UN peacekeepers had moved into a nearby base, fresh from a mission in Nepal, which was in the middle of a cholera outbreak at the time. The base’s waste flows into parts of the river, and scientists have since argued that this was the only possible cause of the cholera outbreak.
According to official stats, the epidemic has killed at least 10,000 people, but some researchers say the number could be much higher. The UN has never accepted any level of responsibility until now, and have maintained they’re immune from any legal action brought against them relating to the outbreak. […]
This isn’t the first criticism against the UN’s work in Haiti. According to a study in PLOS Medicine in January, the UN could have reduced the probability of an outbreak by 91 percent if they had administered chemoprophylaxis treatments, which would have cost less than $1 per peacekeeper.”
What in thee entire fuck…
The UN ladies and gentlemen.
A total of 62 students at Kuleli Military school, the oldest such establishment in Istanbul, were collared by Turkish authorities. Before the coup attempt last week, the pupils, aged between 14 and 17, were made to dress up in camouflage and were handed guns with empty magazines, according to their lawyers. The children have been taken to prison and not allowed to speak to their parents as they were accused of treason against the Turkish State.
Erdogan really has gone off his rocker.
Just in case you needed another reason to hate #BlackLivesMatter today.
Wow really? A group of black lives activists actually do something decent and BLM doesn’t want to be associated with them? Somehow I’m finding it difficult to be shocked. A quote from the article: “"We don’t sit on panels with law enforcement, and we don’t have BBQ’s or cookouts with law enforcement. We feel the best method at this point in history is by holding police accountable by organizing and advocating for police accountability,” Collors said.“ Seriously? So basically "we don’t believe in having actual conversations in a friendly manner, just protesting without actually communicating because that’s going to change something.”
While I don’t agree with some of the points the author makes in the article, like Hillary was right not to have been charged or this type of crime is punished too harshly, his handling of the double standard of Washington elites is on point.
Had someone who was obscure and unimportant and powerless done what Hillary Clinton did – recklessly and secretly install a shoddy home server and worked with Top Secret information on it, then outright lied to the public about it when they were caught – they would have been criminally charged long ago, with little fuss or objection. But Hillary Clinton is the opposite of unimportant. She’s the multi-millionaire former First Lady, Senator from New York, and Secretary of State, supported by virtually the entire political, financial and media establishment to be the next President, arguably the only person standing between Donald Trump and the White House...
Hillary Clinton is too important to be treated the same as everyone else under the law. “Felony charges appear to be reserved for people of the lowest ranks. Everyone else who does it either doesn’t get charged or gets charged with a misdemeanor,” Virginia defense attorney Edward MacMahon told Politico last year about secrecy prosecutions. Washington defense attorney Abbe Lowell has similarly denounced the “profound double standard” governing how the Obama DOJ prosecutes secrecy cases: “lower-level employees are prosecuted . . . because they are easy targets and lack the resources and political connections to fight back.”
This is America. No one should be above the law, no one should be deemed “too important” to be prosecuted for their crimes. The FBI should have filed charges against her, and forced her to step down from running as President.
Between 2009 and 2012, Piedras Negras prison became a virtual extermination camp, ruled with impunity by the notorious crime cartel as an operational base for their reign of terror in the US-Mexican border region.
After an investigation into the three-year period, authorities estimate that around 150 people were murdered inside the prison, with their bodies being burnt or broken down in acid-filled tanks before the remains were disposed of in a river some 20 miles away from the jail.
It is not clear to what extent the prison’s official guards actively cooperated with gang members or whether they merely allowed them to act with impunity in exchange for keeping order among inmates. But prosecutors have revealed that Zetas’ prison leaders dressed up in uniforms as the prison’s de facto security force, wearing bulletproof vests and driving customised vehicles.
At this point, every public official should be arrested in Mexico and prosecuted for corruption. How could they let a drug gang take over their prison as a torture/extermination center?! Furthermore:
The leader of the bloodthirsty Zetas prison gang has been identified as Ramón Burciaga Magallanes, who is currently in another jail serving time for kidnapping. Besides Burciaga Magallanes, prosecutors served arrest warrants on four other suspects. All five are accused of participating in just seven murders because the remains of seven victims have been found and identifies within the prison compound.
The state prosecutor’s office said that it is searching for more missing persons who “were taken to the prison to be killed”.
If they want to focus on their activism rather than their academics, than they should drop out. Asking the school to lower the federal standards just because they don’t know how to handle multiple things happening in their lives at once is unfathomably stupid and selfish.
Furthermore, if Oberlin considers this proposal and implements it, any teacher who has any self-respect should quit on the spot.
If the man dies, I hope they catch the teenagers who beat him and prosecute them all for murder.
This whole family is so fucked up.
NC Woman: ‘I poured drain cleaner in my eyes to blind myself, and I’ve never been happier’
This might be the strangest story you read all day. A North Carolina woman didn’t want to be able to see anymore. So, with the help of a “doctor”, she blinded herself.
From The New York Post:
For most people, going blind is their worst nightmare, but for this North Carolina woman it was a dream come true.
Jewel Shuping, 30, was so desperate to be blind that she poured draining cleaner in her baby blues to wipe out her eyesight — and she couldn’t be happier.
She suffers from an illness called body integrity identity disorder (BIID) — a disease that causes able-bodied people to strongly desire a disability.
“I really feel this is the way I was supposed to be born, that I should have been blind from birth,” Shuping told Barcroft Media.
The afflicted woman knew from a young age she wanted to be blind, and would attempt to harm her eyesight by staring at the sun while “blind-simming,” or pretending to be blind.
Let’s get something straight right off the bat, she has the right to do whatever she wants so long as she doesn’t infringe upon the rights of someone else.
Nevertheless, by all accounts, this is a psychological disorder and should be treated as such. Which is why this story is such a great object lesson for our current hyper-non-judgmental society.
Often, people have completely warped desires and an utterly unrealistic view of who they are. Should these people be allowed to satiate their desires as they see fit? Of course they should (provided that no one’s else’s rights are violated). Liberty demands it. But that doesn’t mean that it’s not a psychological disorder.
Telling people that they are fine when they are not fine doesn’t help anyone. And that’s really the problem with our society’s rush *not* to judge.
Holy shit.
I have a comment and a question.
Anyone who knew about and supported this policy needs to be thrown in jail for life, from any Lt. who repeated the order to Obama. This is war crimes and it cannot be allowed to go unpunished. My question is when did this policy start? Now there are no dates before 2010 listed in the article and I wouldn’t think the NYT would miss a chance to hit Bush…but if this was policy under Bush then he needs to be in jail too.
