A special drawing I did tonight. I'd like to repost Rebecca Solnit's words below. "They want you to feel powerless and to surrender and to let them trample everything and you are not going to let them. You are not giving up, and neither am I. The fact that we cannot save everything does not mean we cannot save anything and everything we can save is worth saving. You may need to grieve or scream or take time off, but you have a role no matter what, and right now good friends and good principles are worth gathering in. Remember what you love. Remember what loves you. Remember in this tide of hate what love is. You can be heartbroken or furious or both at once; you can scream in your car or on a cliff; you can also get up tomorrow and water the flowerpots and call someone who's upset and check your equipment for going onward. A lot of us are going to come under direct attack, and a lot of us are going to resist by building solidarity and sanctuary. Gather up your resources, the metaphysical ones that are heart and soul and care, as well as the practical ones. People kept the faith in the dictatorships of South America in the 1970s and 1980s, in the East Bloc countries and the USSR, women are protesting right now in Iran and people there are writing poetry. There is no alternative to persevering, and that does not require you to feel good. You can keep walking whether it's sunny or raining. Take care of yourself and remember that taking care of something else is an important part of taking care of yourself, because you are interwoven with the ten trillion things in this single garment of destiny that has been stained and torn, but is still being woven and mended and washed."
A small collection of Coco - Happy Halloween!
Coco came out and explored a bit while we were AWAKE today! He found some of Frisbee's old toys and pulled this one out to wrassle with. I tried calling him over and held out my hand for him to sniff, and while he did let out a very dubious sounding meow before trotting back to the safety of the closet, he didn't hiss and he didn't bolt. I'm so glad he's warming up to us and getting more comfortable. :3

The gang’s all here! Finished up coloring in and adding a background for all three of the PCs in the new D&D campaign we’re in. Left to right we have:
The Dark Paladin, Deep for short (real name unknown), a human Oathbreaker Paladin played by my fiancee Athena, @iratescientist.
Arylla Darkmantle, ‘Ryl the Wraith’, my half-drow Hexblade/Rogue (still debating between Phantom and Thief)
Rose Thorne (her stage name; real name unknown), a tiefling Lore Bard played my my sister Cait, @motheatenscarf.
Despite the layout the heights are not at all accurate: Arylla is the shortest at like 5′2″, Deep isn’t much taller (5′3″ or 4″ I think) and Rose is like 5′7″ or 8″ even without the horns.
So far we’re mostly just running around as a bunch of low-level gremlins as is the nature of low-level D&D- even when you run into Plot your available tools are very seat-of-the-pants and your quick thinking is likelier to keep you alive than your spells or hit points. We’ll see how things develop!
Reblogging a bit late (I am not....social media anymore, really?). But look at what Jake did!
updated outfit portrait for my good good GOOlock boy by the wonderful talented @iratescientist!!!
I love it so much, Athena, you did such a good job!!! It looks too pretty, it’s too cool, he doesn’t deserve it!
I love Hakim so much. T___T
