If anyone was wondering yes, I still love pre split panic, yes I still love pretty odd, yes from a mountain in the middle of the cabins is easily one of the best pretty odd songs, yes I still love behind the sea, yes I’m so glad I exist in the same time period of pretty odd
Panic at the Disco logo as seen on the back of the certificate of authenticity for the Pretty Odd box set. (As well as other authenticity certificates)
Very pretty, I just adore how intricate this aesthetic was🖤
seeing someone write panic at the disco with no explanation point and having to decipher if they did that in the name of pretty odd or if they’re just not that deep into panic!
This is so vaguely pretty odd/cricket & clover coded . . .
does anyone wanna smoke that green gentleman & listen to pretty odd w me .?
jon… walker…. appreciation…..
the four of them as a group holds a space in my heart
an empty space,,,, but it’s there 🫶
To everyone who got to see any pre split p!atd show, HOW DOES IT FEEL TO LIVE MY DREAM.
Not a day goes past
where I don’t think about cricket and clover.
Pretty. Odd. Released Singles
First we have the lead single, Nine in the Afternoon
Released January 29, 2008 as the Radio Mix
This CD was dropped with the alternate versions to Behind the Sea and Do you Know what I’m Seeing on the B-side.
I was also able to find this single released on a 7” vinyl (45RPM) Photos of this can be seen below
I also located a version in the UK with the alternate version of Behind the Sea on the B side instead of Do You Know What I’m Seeing (alternate version)
Next on the list, Mad as Rabbits
Released March 25, 2008.
I was not able to find a lot of info on this one unfortunately. Which is a shame because this song is one of my personal favorites!
Then we’ve got, That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed)
This one is commonly seen with the cover art as pictured below
But I was able to find another version with a CD
Released May 2, 2008.
This copy being sold with no B Sides with the cover art as pictured above, but wiki suggests that the alternate version to She Had the World is on the B side. Though I couldn’t find evidence of that copy.
Upon further research of this particular single, I found a 7” vinyl (45RPM) with When the Day Met the Night on the B side. Photos of this beauty seen below
Last but not least is Northern Downpour
Released November 14, 2008.
I was unable to find photos of the released CD or any concrete evidence that it has a B Side with the alternate version of The Piano Knows Something I Don’t Know, despite finding 2 sources that states that it’s on there.
some info on why panic dropped the ! during the release of pretty. odd.
These are both pretty good reads, gives you some insight on the decision.
Basically from what I gathered after reading these sources, what happened is they wrote it down that way (with the !) once and it kind of caught on and spread like wildfire. According to Ryan and Brendon it never really was apart of the name to them and they decided to drop it upon the release of pretty. odd. Though sometime after the split in 2009, the punctuation mark returned for the rest of the duration of the music project and remains to this day.
We need to bring concept albums back
Like where the whole idea behind the album is for the art. All the band mates dress up in outfits that match the aesthetic of that particular album. Where all the music videos are cohesive. We need each individual song to be a dire piece to the overall story of the album. We need well thought out music again. I’m talking pretty odd and a afycso level. The black parade and three cheers type shit. DANGER DAYS Like cmon !! We are missing OUT people.
