the thing about chase is that his catholic guilt and daddy issues and manwhoreism all derive from the same drive which is this perpetual search for something to believe in, something worth believing in, something that can accept his belief. the search is perpetual because he’s always left wanting. he tries god and his father and love and sex but the only thing that even halfway works is house. and then house dies and chase becomes him, working at the same hospital, in the same office, his life a living shrine to his personal saint. AND he’s australian
