Now I’m thinking about the fact that in 1x02, Jace says to Clary “no more ‘I’m sorry’s, you’re a Shadowhunter now”. And yet one of the last things Clary says to Jace, before she loses her memories and as she’s about to stop being a Shadowhunter, is “I’m sorry”

That last scene is gorgeous. The parallel with “I can see you” and their first meeting. The disbelief on Jace's face at first and the smile that spreads once Clary says his name. The look on Clary's face when she touches his runes, all the hope and possibilities there. And Where We Come Alive is one of my favorite songs, and it was a perfect note to end the show on.

Clary and Jace’s dance scene is so beautiful. Jace’s confession that he thought the Lightwoods would get rid of him if he wasn’t perfect is consistent with the demanding, cruel way Valentine raised him and so sad. And he’s finally found someone whose unconditional love he believes – and a few minutes later, he loses the Clary he knows forever.

And Clary. How hard she tries to hide her pain – crying silently into his shoulder, saying ‘I love you’ when Jace asks if she’s ok instead of answering – is excruciating to watch. And even in her last moments as a Shadowhunter, she tries to tell Jace how much she loves him and only lets herself cry once she walks away. That scene broke my heart, but it was gorgeous and I loved it.

That scene with Clary and Jace dancing and then Clary losing her memories was actually heartbreaking. I didn't expect to have so many feelings about this and I don't know what to do.

Hmm. I like TDA Clary/Jace more than expected - they were very angsty during TMI and I hated that, but in this series we get them as a side couple who are cute and also go on terrifying, dangerous missions together. I’m kind of into that.
