im absolutely devastated about the election results and feeling totally helpless about it. this made me feel a little better and made me not so alone. plus i always love atticus’s fics, he’s a great writer and they’re always so enjoyable 🫶
unfortunate fixation today on cold weather whump especially ed getting dumped out of a car in the middle of a snowy field wearing little or no clothing

gotta see a man about a dinghy (G, 2k) - s1e09 missing scene. Ed mugs a guy for his dinghy and gets to enjoy 10 seconds of happiness before everything falls apart.
Ed. Oh, Ed. (T, 4k) - Takes place between s1e10 and s2e02. A few different glimpses of Stede's "Ed. Oh, Ed" dreams. Technically a WIP, but each chapter can be read as a standalone.
Post-Canon/Post Season 2:
can't keep my hands to myself (I mean I could, but why would I want to?) (E, 5k) - Ed and Stede retire from piracy and attempt to open an inn. Or they would, if they could stop fucking for long enough to get the place into shape.
Oh, be my once in a lifetime (E, 7k) - An extremely soft + emotional look at their first night in the inn together, with rimming.
The way I feel under your command ( E, 13k) - Ed develops something of a Blackbeard kink, but he's not sure how to broach the subject with Stede (or, an exploration of the Ed/Blackbeard duality, by way of porn)
AUs
Come What May (T, 9k) - After a break up, Stede goes over to his best buddy Ed's house for a movie night. Is tonight the night that Ed finally tells him how he feels? Maybe, but expect 9,000 words of panic attack first. Modern AU, mutual pining/oblivious friends-to-lovers

It’s one of my biggest pet peeves for post-canon fic when Izzy is just…randomly mentioned as alive. He doesn’t appear in the story, he doesn’t have anything to do with it, and yet the author feels like it’s necessary to mention it. Just. Don’t mention him at all! And then your readers can assume whatever they’d like about his status.
Like there is nothing that takes me right out of the fic and makes me roll my eyes so hard than the author being like “oh, and Izzy, who actually survived his gunshot wound or however they’re trying to explain it is off doing this thing that has nothing to do with what I’m writing about, but he’s ALIVE SO DONT WORRY I KNOW YOU WERE WONDERING” no I really fucking wasn’t. If he’s not a part of the actual story then please. Just. Stop.
So I had to vent about this last night, and I’m still thinking about it, because literally I don’t understand what the point is. If he isn’t important to the story, if he doesn’t even show up, then just don’t mention him. Like why is it important to mention that Izzy is alive in a sandwich fic featuring Ed, Stede, and Mary??
Just. Why does he always ALWAYS get special treatment?
Like I would love to hear some other thoughts on this because it actually annoys me so much. Am I the only one? Am I being an asshole?
On a disasterous company retreat, Stede spots a beautiful man in a wedding dress sitting alone on the curb along the Las Vegas Strip...
