Thoughts after listening to Some Nights on repeat for the entirety of an hour long drive
--Blaine: some nights I wish that my lips could build a castle, some nights I wish they'd just fall off. (Ow.) --this is it boys, this is war: okay so obviously this is a war song and the percussion is appropriately militaristic, but it specifically sounds like "Be a Man" from Mulan to me. --is it Tina who sings "when I hear songs, they sound like this one"? Regardless, the enunciation makes it sound more like "when I hear songs, they sound like the swan" to me, which has me thinking about Swan Song. --about a minute in there's a brief siren sound. I drove by five different police cars on my drive, all of which were on the shoulder of the road/interstate with their lights already flashing. Three of the five times the siren bit of the song hit just as I passed the police car. NERVE WRACKING. --still the most fun song that i know to drum along to on my steering wheel
