It's Only a Play is one of THE best shows (musical or play) I have ever seen.

It was fucking brilliantly fantastic. Three of the actors had their last performances this afternoon, so I can't say anything for future performances, but oh my goodness. Sublime. Utterly sublime. Hilarious. I wish I could do it all over again right now. And the framing! Who needs the fourth wall anyway it circles the fuck all the way around and we the audience played right into our parts and oh my god I am on cloud nine what a show what a show.

Using instrumental versions of songs from A Little Night Music as the music coming from the festival? Why, Into the Woods, you have thoroughly charmed and intellectually stimulated me. "Agony" remains my favorite ridiculous manpain song of all time 5eva I will fight you. I liked all of the singing! (Still bitter bout Russell Crowe and Pierce Brosnan, hbu) Not particularly a fan of the cuts they made (things going wrong before the giant starts wreaking havoc increases the poignancy for me, ymmv), but I appreciated how closely they kept the dialogue, etc. in the rest. I enjoyed it :)

Into the Woods is so important to me.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but all the chatter has all of the music on constant rotation in my head, and I'm remembering all over again how much it means to me.
