To me, the Owl House fandom feels that it's grown far too focused on lumity ans Amity and misses out on Luz as a character.
So I'm going to do something to fix that. Or at least get more Luz stuff made. I give members of the Fandom here this challenge:
Before the Owl Hosue season 3 premiere (or after, I'm not pickey) reblog this post with a headcanon you have about Luz. But it can't involve Lumity or Amity or shipping of any kind. It has to be about Luz and Luz alone. It can be angsty, happy, funny, I don't care. But it has to be a Luz headcanon.
Ok. I’ll play.
Luz has dozens of notebooks hidden away that are filled with drawings and sketches.
Some are filled with cute things and Anime OCs.
Others are filled with...well...Have you ever seen Turning Red?
Remember that one scene?
Yeah, Luz has notebooks filled out in a way like that. And she’s just looking for the right opportunity to burn them all.
No one else is playing? Alright. Then I’ll keep adding more until, at least, twenty people join the game. So, get ready:
Once Luz joined the internet, she took part of every cringe fandom.
She has made at least three Sonic OCs in her life.
Has said Pickle Rick for a month after that episode aired.
And has a single fur-sona buried deep into the files saved on her computer.
She hasn’t done anything with Harry Potter, though. Did you hear that Rusty Smidge rant? This is a girl with standards.
But you better believe she has over 90 Great Witch Azura fics saved up on her AO3. Most of them Heczura based.
Five people. That’s progress. Let’s keep it going:
Luz’s bisexual awakening was through April O’Niel. Luz’s father introduced her to the 80s version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and April O’Niel was always Luz’s favorite.
It wasn’t until years later did she realize why.
Come on, let’s keep this game going.
Luz’s first date was a prank.
Someone asked her out and said to wait at a specific place at a specific time. They never showed and when Luz confronted them the next day, they actually laughed in Luz’s face.
It was that day that she believed that no one liked her that way.
(Come on, people. Play along.)
In the future, I believe Luz will become a writer. And, no, I’m not saying she’ll be stuck in the Human Realm and is forced to become a writer because she’s no longer a witch. I mean that even if she’ll be stuck in the Boiling Isles forever, Luz will become a writer.
“Hunting Palismens” hint that being a witch isn’t that big of a desire for her anymore. And even if it is, she can’t really make a career being a witch with no direct purpose.
But we have seen how much writing and art means to Luz, and I do feel like her future could lead to her being a writer. Maybe one who even illustrates for her own work.
She’ll still preform magic if she needs to, but in terms of what she’s passionate about and what she’ll do for a living, it’s being a writer that’s the route for her.
Luz often cut her own hair just because she wanted to and Camila always had to try and fix it the best she could.
She is currently in the middle of writing/posting an extremely long Azura fic about Azura and a bunch of ocs/self-inserts.
She has tried almost every activity or club that her school has to offer. Most of them she was kicked out of for being too "weird," left because she felt she failed, or she just got bored of it. The Noceda attic is filled with various supplies and equipment left over from all those different activities.
She loves going into her mom's work and visiting all the animals there. She even went through a phase of wanting to become a veterinarian, but eventually decided not too because she doesn't like seeing animals in pain.
She went through a knitting phase and tried to knit a frog hat but couldn't and now the needles and yarn have been lost deep in a drawer somewhere.
Once Luz tried to impress a crush with some fanart she made but they just laughed at it and she was pretty insecure about her fanart for a while after that.
Her dad loved picking her up from school. Whenever he could it was their own special time where they'd go do something fun like get ice cream or play at the park. Luz misses it, even though she'd never tell her mom.
I have a few more actually
Luz and King tried to make Eda a cake for her birthday but King didn't know how to bake and Luz (even though she liked to bake in the human realm) did NOT know how the demon realm equivalent of baking powder worked and the whole cake blew up in their faces. Then they had to rush to clean up the kitchen and run out to buy Eda a new cake before she got home. Even though they told Hooty to keep what had happened a secret he promptly spilled the whole story to Eda and she laughed for five minutes straight.
Follow up to that one, Eda also does not know how to bake but she tried to teach Luz after the incident. It involved several cooking spells gone wrong, Hooty having to put out at least six fires, and Eda accidently using ingredients that Luz couldn't eat and making her sick. But they slowly figured it out together with Luz using her cooking skills from Camila and Eda using her knowledge of boiling isles food to finally bake some stuff.
Luz once tried to hide a family of stray cats in her room. Camila soon found out and sadly had to give them all away to other loving homes.
For several years she made houses and traps for fairies, but never managed to catch a glimpse of one, much to her disappointment. She's still upset that demon realm fairies aren't like what humans described them as.
