I liked your walls. I liked being the one to break them down.

I think this parallel hurt me the most, because she is just acknowledging how she feels like she is not his home anymore. Once his ship was all he needed, until he found a new home in her, and he was able to give it away. Now, Emma is not there any longer and he sees the dark one instead, so she’s “giving it back”. She’s no longer his home.

”Mixed emotions I bet”: Why I love Captain Hood friendship

i love how nonplussed by technology Hook and Hood were about that sonogram and instead launched in to what’s really important - the emotional effect of the baby on all the players at hand.

Hook wasn’t wowed by the fact that our world has the capability to see inside a womb. Not overly impressed that you can see an unborn baby. There’s no - holy shit that’s incredible moment. Instead, when Robin shows him that sonogram Hook’s reply is:

“Mixed emotions I bet”

He immediately recognized that it is both a difficult and a happy moment for Robin. That there are conflicting feelings about the baby.

And I love that Robin, who doesn’t know Hook that well, OPENS UP.  He’s never one to shy away about talking about his feelings, about matters of the heart - good and bad. I love that he understands that this is hard for Regina as well as himself.  But he’s also struggling with the fact that he doesn’t have anyone to share his happiness over being a father again with.

I like that he was able to share that with Hook.

And that he had the sensitivity to give Hook a chance to talk about his own troubles with Emma as the Dark One. I’m glad these two have each other.

These men have so much emotional intelligence and sensitivity.  And this scene demonstrated to me, once again, why they are the perfect partners for women with emotional walls - women who are strong but who’ve had trouble talking about their feelings, difficulty opening up.

It’s such refreshing flip on the usual gender roles we see in media.
