hi anon! i am in fact jewish & i very much love being jewish!! i’m american conservative jewish & my community is mostly ashkenazi (though my family is a tiny bit sephardic) so a lot of my traditions & outlook come from that

i’m not the most ridiculously observant person (i don’t keep shabbat, i don’t go to services every day, etc.) but i do keep kosher & try to observe every holiday i can (don’t usually do minor fasts & sometimes i forget abt tisha b’av although i probably shouldn’t lol)

kinda hard to pick just one favorite thing? for me, judaism is very much a religion of questioning things and of morality rather than like. blind faith & devotion which i think has truly shaped my worldview & who i am as a person so that’s pretty important to me! i love the tradition of arguing and texts upon texts disagreeing with each other on interpretations of literally everything

specific tradition wise, i fucking love kabbalat shabbat. like so much. it’s enjoyable and peaceful and a really good way to bring in shabbat. also really like hallel because it’s fun (even if it takes forever to get to)

holiday wise i’m a slut for purim mainly because i was born on purim but also who doesn’t love getting drunk, eating cookies, wearing costumes, and bullying a long-dead antisemite? tu bishvat is also fun as fuck love me some TREES

anyway this is a long winded answer but thank you anon for asking! it’s not the case for everyone but i’m pretty open to talking abt this stuff so i appreciate the excuse to ramble abt how sexy and cool it is that i’m jewish 💟💟💟
