Wally could play a song as overt as Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer and Dick, in true bat fashion, would still miss the hint
If you could live in one DC city, which one would you choose? Star City? Central City? Metropolis? Gotham? Or a different one?
All of them have their pros and cons

Metropolis
- Pros: not Gotham
- Cons: gotta buy a new car every week the way they get thrown through your office
Smallville

- Cons: corn
Gotham
- Pros: grunge vibes
- Cons: Gotham
Birdflash? Please?
How about some high school Dick and Wally
- Wally fell faster, Dick fell harder.
- Wally start developing feelings the first time they go on patrol with just the two of them. There was just something about watching the gears in Dick's head turning as he disabled a booby trap.
- Dick wouldn't return the feelings until over year later, when they're watching a movie at the Manor and Wally dozed off halfway through, mumbling in his sleep.
- They were each other's date to junior prom at both of their schools.
- Dick picked Wally up in Central City on a cloaked Bat-plane and took him to dinner at an upscale place Bruce recommended, but they quickly realized that wasn't their style and slipped out to get pizza instead, even if it meant missing the first half hour of the dance.
- Wally ran to Gotham, but to maintain their identities, rented a minivan to pick Dick up from the Manor because the rental place was all out of limos. He decorated it with some cardboard and paint for that extra romantic touch. Bruce wasn't pleased but Dick thought it was hilarious.
- They also got part-time jobs to keep their covers (and get some experience).
- Wally was a science tutor and Dick often made the trip just to pretend he didn't know what the periodic table was.
- Dick worked at a fast food joint and always wrote his number on Wally's receipt with "call me" underneath.
- Back in their day, queer people were still nearly unheard of and coming to terms with it, especially as a teenager, was way more difficult. Even though Bruce and Barry would be accepting, the idea of telling them was no less daunting.
- A few months into dating Wally, Dick devised a multi-step plan to butter Bruce up and tell him. It included doing all the chores, ordering Bruce's favorite meal, an hour-long queer history presentation with cited sources, Barbara as his hype woman, and a fallback plan where he'd escape to a safehouse. None of that ended up happening, because before Dick could execute it, Bruce told him all about his own past with guys.
- Wally came out a little later and a lot more impulsively, blurting it out while he and Barry were in the car before jumping out and speeding down the highway. Barry caught up to him an hour later in another city and assured him that everything was okay. Though, Barry wasn't thrilled about the prospect of hanging around Bruce more than he already had to.
- Dick thought it'd be a good idea to sign up for debate. Wally warned him about getting overcompetitive but Dick didn't listen. Nonetheless, Wally didn't mind staying up to help organize flashcards and rehearse before a big meet.
- For some reason, Wally joined band and picked the French horn. The teacher wasn't great and neither of the boys knew the first thing about how a French horn worked. At one point, Dick tried to straighten it into a regular horn in the Batcave while Wally contemplated dropping the class.
- Arcade dates! Sometimes they went head-to-head. Other times, they worked in sync just like on the field. And they'd always win prizes for each other. One time they didn't win much, so they pretended to propose to each other with Ring Pops.
- Another kind of date they enjoyed was teaching each other new things. Wally absorbed new information really fast and regurgitated it back when they hung out. Dick, meanwhile, had a more physical love language and liked to guide Wally's hands in guitar or batarang lessons.
- Dick saved Wally's contact as "Roadrunner" and Wally saved Dick's as "Lightning Rod."
Ok this is gonna be weird bc it's a less popular ship/rarepair but I haven't found much Tim/Bart angst specifically and I was wondering if you could do some?
- Bart can canonically break the fourth wall. He knew when one of his comics was canceled and he's aware that he's part of a bigger story. And it wouldn't be a stretch to say that he knows, at least in a sense, that everyone sort of takes a backseat to the batfam. So he's aware that Tim is the main character of Young Justice's stories.
- Bart was supposed to be the funny speedster friend. He never meant to develop feelings. But it's Tim. Smart, dedicated, messy-in-a-cute-way Tim who doesn't realize how magnetic he is.
- While Tim's stealing kisses from Steph on patrol, Bart's sitting on top of a Central City skyscraper, wondering what it'd feel like to have Tim there instead. He pictures the wind billowing under Tim's cape and messing up his hair, and flexes his fingers on the concrete ledge while imaging what it'd be like to have Tim's hand in his own.
- Both in and out of costume, he sees the tension between Tim and Kon. The teasing, the momentary touches, the heart-to-hearts. Sure, he and Tim have them too, but with Kon, Tim just seems... different.
- One time, they're having a sleepover, just the two of them. They lose track of time playing video games, until Tim dozes off on Bart's shoulder. And Bart just freezes. He doesn't know what to do and he doesn't wanna wake Tim up, so he just stays like that. Hours crawl by and it takes everything in him to resist playing with Tim's hair. Eventually, Tim wakes up and Bart goes back to pretending it's all cool.
- Then Tim comes out and starts dating Bernard, and Bart pulls back. He's glad for Tim, but he can't help but long for what could have been. While Tim and Bernard are having dinner on the rooftop, Bart is in his room with the curtains drawn, slow dancing by himself to a song Tim introduced him to years back.
- Nobody knows. Not Kon or Cassie. Not the Flashes. In a life written for mass consumption, this is the one thing Bart has to himself. And he's accepted that Tim's never gonna see him as more than a friend. Happy endings are for main characters. Bart's just there to root for him.
I imagine the bats don't invite people to stay the night, they're just like "you're staying and you'll like it"
Ok but that's literally Wally West

Sort of obsessed with Speedsters post battle being covered in their own blood but no actual injury being present because of their healing factor.
Who says it's their blood?

no bond is stronger than the one between a batkid and his corresponding speedster
Literally, there's a speedster to compliment every bat
Dick and Wally have the classic brolationship—they have their own partners but that won't stop them from sleeping in the same bed, ordering one milkshake, or sharing custody of Zitka. They have the comfort of knowing that in every life, they have each other. Plus, Babs and Linda already have their bredding (bro wedding) planned out.
Hear me out: Jason's speedster is Owen Mercer. Owen, who's the second Captain Boomerang with short bursts of speed, can act as both the hero and the villain in different narratives. Unlike his predecessor, his alignment shifts to suit his needs but he's more good than bad, which makes him a prime Outlaw candidate. Also Jason wants to set the record for most redheads collected.
Tim has Bart. A lot of fan portrayals have Bart as tertiary to Tim and Kon (it's even a point of contention in canon). However, I think of Bart's mentality as the antithesis to Tim's. Tim mulls over strategy while Bart chooses to act first. They both have a stubborn righteousness, but Tim is jaded with experience compared to Bart, who maintains a youthful sense of optimism and ambition. They're both geniuses, but Bart is far more in touch with emotions and can call out when something isn't right in a relationship.
Damian has Wallace II. Canonically, they butt heads before coming to the realization they have to team up. Rather than being the opposite, I think Wallace's defiant attitude mirrors Damian's. They've both been let down by the adults in their lives and prefer to take things into their own hands. They both have childish egos that have been subdued over time, which can be both a common ground and a clashing point that keeps their relationship interesting.
I was initially gonna pair Jesse with Babs, but I think there's more growth potential with Steph. They're fast learners who aren't afraid to let themselves feel, and sometimes they're in over their heads. Jesse feels like a future snapshot of Steph. I can see Jesse showing Steph how to channel her passion and energy not just in being hero, but also becoming a better version of herself.
Duke and Cass share Avery. Compared to Duke, Cass and Avery have been around more. I can picture them taking him around the world on new adventures and teaching him tricks that Bruce wouldn't have. Avery switches between places pretty often, which makes her a reliable point of contact outside of Gotham. Also I wanna see Duke and Avery combine their powers.
Babs and Danica are the "let people underestimate us because of our disabilities" duo. While Babs is on the home front as Oracle, Danica is the speedster no one expects because her inhaler throws off all suspicions about her identity. While Danica doesn't quite fit with the Birds of Prey, she still makes a valuable ally.
Thaddeus possesses a cynicism akin to Cullen Row, although Thad is more unhinged. I can see them connecting over their resentment and without anyone to keep them in check, that can be dangerous. However, Harper is more grounded and draws clear moral boundaries, so she acts as a counterbalance that turns a destructive relationship into a productive one.
Jess and Carrie's nonbinary asses would definitely get along. They both have fun personalities and creative ways to navigate situations where not many tools are provided. They can be loud and attention grabbing when they want, but they also know the advantages of being in the background.
Kate and Max are similar in that they're mentors, but they're also not. They're the ones who step in when the usual mentor figures (Bruce and Barry) fall short. They have a distant exterior but provide lots of love and support once someone gets through to them, and they're not afraid to call out their counterparts.
Alfred and Jay have plenty of experience under their belts and don't let their age keep them from the action. It's abundantly clear that they care about their families, and it hurts when they can't protect them from everything. Jay has a more American Grandpa sense of humor while Alfred has the dry British wit, so together they're unstoppable.
John Fox barely shows up in the comics, but when he does he's doing what he thinks is best only to land in trouble. Selina would relate to the messy history and moral ambiguity where actions don't match intentions. They also both have a knack for disguises and can exchange tips.
Bruce has Barry, obviously. Their relationship is similar to Tim and Bart's. Bruce definitely lets the grimdarkness seep into how he sees the world, whereas Barry can step back and look at things from an objective lens. Not everything need a complicated plans with a thousand contingencies, so Barry is like the common sense/Occam's Razor. Plus, we all love how he and the team mess with Bruce—it's what Bruce needs.
