One of my favorites.

[Image shows a 4 panel Calvin and Hobbes strip. Calvin's dad, his face bare, walks up to Calvin's mom asking, "Honey, have you seen my glasses? I can't find them anywhere."

She replies, "I haven't seen them."

Calvin walks in, wearing the glasses, to both of their shock. He puts his hands on his hips, and complains, "Calvin, go do something you hate! Being miserable builds character!"

We cut to his mom on the ground, she's laughing so hard. His dad sulkily says, "OK, the voice was a little funny, but that's still one darn sarcastic kid we're raising."

i had a dream last night that kermit the frog died. it was on the news "kermit the frog, aged 96, has passed away peacefully in his sleep"

i turned to my mom like "how does that even work, he's a puppet?" she got really mad at me and said through tears "now's not the time, the frog JUST died. show some respect."

I think non-metric units would be more like their equivalent of those Golden Age teams that have mostly retired now; the Measurement League actually do have a canonical villain:
