I kinda headcanon every Vir kiss .. as .. wholesome .. like I can´t really picturing kissing someone without it being about that other someone,  if he´s initiating a kiss means something, a whole day staying in and relaxing together, a whole day of shared laughter and comfortable silence a whole day of tasting through a whole range of different snacks and leaning back with a full belly before cuddling together, that and more is all in one kiss, there always is something shared in it,  I can still see him in a one night kiss scenario but there still is at least a deep fondness towards the other person present that just elevating, and he´s always sincerely and fully enjoying it, everything can be a mess, the world can crumble but it just stops falling apart for a moment, and if it doesn´t he´s saving the kiss for a moment where it will ..

I feel like Vir would actually be a really good roommate and put some effort in it to not be a bad one, like he has a tendency to make things messy sometimes but he tries not to .. and wouldn´t Ivanova  sooner or later (if there isn´t phases of having a break from each other) be unhappy about anyone?

Unless I did buuut I’m pretty sure she wasn’t seen as being in the right. And like, Sheridan completely went against Earthgov or w/e and it was obvious that it wasn’t seen as a Bad Thing/unpatriotic?? Idk I’m just not sure how someone can think the show was promoting republicanism/conservatism. Or did I misread OP’s thing at the end? 

I never got any messages that would have promoted republicanism/conservatism either, they dealt with topics like that but I don´t think they´ve been shown in a very favorable light .. ?  Especially the scene in the reddit link I do actually remember seeing this and being creeped out, so if they wanted to portray that as something great they failed with me, and if I remember correctly the immediate reaction was not a very strong one or like a super obvious “that´s awful”? But I do think just Sheridan saying those single words and letting the other person reply was kind of an effective portrayal ..it just took those words to know for the viewer what´s actually up instead of the twisted other version .. and you know I might even agree that in some diplomatic situations criticizing leaders might be inappropriate in a sense that it would do more harm than good, which someone on B5 should be able to navigate .. but I always thought that everything said there was to be seen as shortsighted, harmful and awful as it is .. 

and about the religious overtones, yes indeed .. and there is like .. those that are rooted in like actual “higher” beeings .. but for the viewer those are fictional .. and apart from that what I really like also more philosophical approaches .. like G'Kar´s truth/god scene .. which feels kind of agnostic and shifting a focus on perception, god isn´t as in a religion the center but the concept isn´t dismissed entirely either .. aaand what I want to say on the religious bottom line I don´t see much doctrine there either ?

I´m afraid there is a whole WalkingDead Season that I “have” to watch before B5, but some random episodes might still sneak in before a proper rewatch though ^^ 

I´m sometimes a bit reluctant about the “soulmatey”/destinedToBe couple but they really have portrayed those two well, it´s not too much of that with them (at least from what I remember)   

Also: I forgot to mention that my first thought was to pick Vir/Lennier to choose from .. but .. that might have been to easy ;D?

So like…is there actual evidence that DS9 copied B5 idea? I love them both and will no matter, just wondering. I mean..maybe Dukat/Dukhat is coincidence? I want to know, if it was copied, how that would happen. All I heard was that B5 people took idea to Paramount I think and they rejected it, then took ds9. I could be way off. Lemme know if you know stuff!
