I’m like ooookay I’ll go ask them the specifics at the window. First I wash my hands of course because COVID and because I had been cleaning. I go to the window and greet.

Customer: “hi sorry I heard you saying something, but I thought I’d come up here”

Me: “That’s okay! I just wanted to ask what size and if you wanted-“

Customer: “does that tattoo say you bloom?”

Me: “oh it says but still you bloo-“

Customer: “.....mhm.....-stares at me for a second-....can you wash your hands..”

I mean of course I will even though I just did. Why? Do I look dirty? Do my tattoos offend you? Is it just because I’m new to this store?

A coworker made her ~waters~ because they are very particular and they didn’t want me to MAKE THEM WRONG!!!

So I have worked for all of like a week at my new store. I love it. The people are amazing. The customers are amazing. Except there is this one lady...apparently she never buys ANYTHING. She just comes through for water or samples???? She ordered 6 waters with modifications....im like why...why is this a thing?? And apparently she gets very snippy if you get her WATERS wrong?

First day back!

First day back was a success. I’m going to be nights which I have never really done, but I’m excited!

Oh I also got married recently so that was pretty darn cool.

So I’m goin back to the barista life. I’m currently working through my two weeks at my current gig and then it’s back to the ~grind~ I’m feeling so weird. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but actually putting in my two weeks was tough. It’s not that I don’t like my job. I just think I’d be happier making coffee again. The only reason I ever left my jobs making coffee was because I found opportunities to make more money. Now I’m married and in a place that I don’t really desperately need money, so I took the opportunity to go back to doing something I really enjoy.

Almost two years and one baby later...thinking about going back to Starbucks again. I wonder if they are tired of me yet.

LOL but did I tell you guys about my last day?

I got screamed at by a heroin addict in our bathrooms just because i knocked! I had to pee, but we are guessing due to his reaction I interrupted him and caused him to miss.

So yeah my last day I go to use the restroom and I know our usual homeless guy is sleeping in one of them. After a knock on both doors and a couple minutes pass I come back and still both doors locked.

I knock again hoping I will wake up our usual homeless man only to hear, “you dumb bitch! If the door is locked obviously there is someone fucking in here!”

I retreat back behind the counter SHAKING. I explain to my supervisor and she is like, “wait...he screamed at you?” After a few minutes we wait and still no one comes out of either restroom. She goes to knock and I can hear this man from accross the cafe call her every name in the book.

Now this woman, my supervisor, is the toughest. But I hear him screaming in her face calling her a “dumb cunt” and every other name. I hear her say, “I’m not dealing with this I am calling the cops.” She comes back behind the counter and shes shaking. He had come out and gotten within an inch of her face. He was LIVID, screaming at her, and demeaning her for KNOCKING.

She dialed 911 and he stood outside our windows glaring and holding up two middle fingers before he drove off. Looked like just a normal middle aged guy.

All we did was knock on a door a couple of times within like a 20 minute period BECAUSE I WAS AT WORK AND YA GIRL HAD TO PEE, but yeah apparently that warrented being called a dumb cunt and being screamed at in our faces.

It was an eventful last shift 😅

I quit Starbucks again. I am sorry y’all but my other job offered me full-time with benefits and the Starbucks I was at just...wasn’t the coffee shop environment I knew and loved.
