Hi guys! So I had been chatting with my friend @jcmorrigan, who expressed interest in some additional content for my Harry Potter OC, Julien Montmercy...so I decided to draw some of my LGBT+ kids from my fanfiction Harry Potter and the Lack of Lamb Sauce for Pride Month! (Don’t be misled by the silly title -- the fic may start with Gordon Ramsay being the Potions professor instead of Horace Slughorn in sixth year, but it is not as cracky as the premise sounds, not by a mile. XD)
For Noel as an individual, I loved listening to Defying Gravity (covered by Kerry Ellis) while writing them. It just so exemplifies not only their love of flying but also of casting off all expectations and just being unapologetically themselves. Even though Noel is very quiet and reserved with most people, they have this wonderful rebellious core about them, and I just love that contrast in their character.
Meanwhile Rose’s character theme was Try Everything by Shakira, first featured in Disney’s Zootopia! Just like Rose, the song is bouncy, optimistic, determined, and resilient…plus it’s super catchy!!
For them as a couple, I pick There She Goes by the La’s! I listened that song to a lot while I was writing Noel and Rose’s interactions around Halloween, and well, for me, it just embodies the excitement and thrill that comes from getting to know a new place or person. It’s the rush that comes from falling in love for the first time – and yeah, that’s Nose in a nutshell!
Whaaaat, Tory actually tried drawing something?? Yeah, looks like it! Totally not an artist, but I felt like trying to visualize some of my girls from Lack of Lamb Sauce: Bridget Jaheem, Astoria Greengrass, and Hannah Abbott! The proportions are all off, but doodling these were fun all the same…maybe I can try Julien Montmercy or Rose Zeller a little later, if I’m feeling adventurous. *shrug*
“I know you, Lydia,” said Etienne sharply, his ice blue eyes flaring with a twisted kind of righteous fury. “You’re my flesh – my blood. You don’t think I wouldn’t know if you were keeping secrets?”
“You were in Azkaban almost my entire life!” said Julien incredulously.
“And you are my daughter!” Etienne shot back vehemently.
In an instant Noel had shot forward, leaning in to place a chaste kiss to the side of Rose’s face. The kiss lingered against her skin in tingling tremors.
“I promise I’ll come back,” said Noel, their eyes shining with resolve. “I promise.”

Lucius turned to look at Rose suspiciously.
“What do you want?” he asked.
Rose blinked. “Hmm?”
“What is your aim in trying to get me to converse with you, hmm? You are a Muggle-bred bantling, barely above Muggles, which are just barely above animals. What reason could I possibly have to bless a leech like you – something that drains magic from the world and drags all of wizard kind down with you – any sort of attention?”
The vitriol Lucius spoke with was potent and sickening. Amazingly, however, Rose was unfazed; instead she merely raised her eyebrows, surveying Lucius innocuously.
“Don’t really have an aim, exactly…except maybe hoping you’ll relax enough to finally eat something. As for reason…well, you’re clearly malnourished, and you’re looking kind of frail…and why wouldn’t you be, you haven’t eaten anything substantial in weeks! I reckon your family wouldn’t like seeing you like this, if nothing else.”
Lucius stared at Rose, dumbfounded. He clearly had expected her to get angry – to shut down – but instead, all the tiny Hufflepuff did was push the plate full of pear slices and cheese a little closer to him.
“If you don’t want to talk, that’s fine,” she said coolly, eating a little more cheese herself, “but you’ll have to eat to get me to shut up.”
Lucius looked from the plate to up at her again, his gray eyes narrowing critically. Then, very, very slowly, he put the bottle of whiskey down on the table, lowered himself down into the chair in front of the plate, and took a bite of the cheese.
The character theme I use for Rose is “Try Everything,” by Shakira, which was featured in Disney’s Zootopia. *shameless plug for the HP music video I made with this song, LOL*
If she could produce a corporeal Patronus, what form would it take?
A hummingbird! Symbolically they are seen as healers and bringers of love and good luck, and with their endlessly fluttering wings, they have been linked to the concept of eternity.
Rose fidgeted a lot as she sat on the stool and the Hat was put on, but it didn’t take long for her to receive her proper place. The Sorting Hat sensed an off-beat, creative mind and a fearless spirit, but also steadfast loyalty, honesty, optimism, a strong work ethic, and a loving, accepting nature, and cried out loudly, “HUFFLEPUFF!”
Rose’s wardrobe is really bright and kind of eclectic. She tends to not match her clothes very well, and will put on obnoxious yellow and orange socks with a hot pink dress just because she likes all of those colors, regardless of how much they clash. She also has no reference for what types of clothes belong in what season – she will wear a sweater in the summer or a dress in the winter, if she’s in the mood for it. She wears her hair in pigtails, side buns, braids, or ponytails a lot, and she prefers comfy, casual looks to anything upscale. Pink is her favorite color and she is the sort to wear bows or shirts with cute animals on them.

In contrast to Lucius, Noel looked positively over the moon at stepping out of Beau’s car. They spun around twice, swinging their arms loosely as they took in the snow-capped, only-half-full parking lot – then they turned to Rose, their hazel eyes alight with mischief.
“Race you to the front door, Rose!”
Without waiting for her or the others to answer, they were off.
“HEY!” Rose called after Noel with a laugh as she dashed after them. “NO FAIR, NOEL!”
Trudy opened her mouth, ready to call after them, but Beau put a hand on her shoulder.
“It’s okay, Trudy,” he said gently. “They won’t go too far, and we can catch up. Besides…I think Rose could really use that little bit of joy.”
Trudy’s eyes softened.
“She needs a lot more of it,” she murmured with a sad smile. “She took such a job onto her shoulders…trying to give all of us a bit of sunshine…”
“I don’t reckon she saw it as any sort of job,” said Beau amusedly. “A hobby, more like – something that brought her just as much happiness as it did us.”
Lucius’s gaze flickered over to Noel and Rose as they met at the front doors of the theater, Noel playfully dancing around in victory and Rose laughing as she chased after them, punching their shoulders.
The two orbited around each other like planets, as if in a weird astrological twist, Rose was the sun circling the Earth.
Chapter is up...and in this one, we’ll be focusing on the residents of Beau Plumpton’s house: Beau, of course; Rose Zeller; Noel Harwich; Trudy Bonham; and Lucius Malfoy! Toward the end we’ll also get some focus on two other characters who I won’t spoil here...and is that really some sunlight on the horizon -- really?! Finally?!
New chapter’s up! In this installment, the New Year is upon our characters, and change is in the air. I must be honest, I’m not completely sure about how I feel about this chapter, but...well, I guess you all will let me know! And if this one completely blows up, hopefully it won’t be so bad that you won’t come back for the next chapter, where drama will rear its ugly head again.
Featuring in this chapter are the Malfoys (Draco, Narcissa, and Lucius), as well as Rose Zeller and Beau Plumpton.
UPDATE’S HERE! It’s the most wonderful time of the year -- in the story, at least -- but of course, a war is still going on, so things are not quite as cheery as they should be.
Focus in this chapter will be on the Creevey brothers, Kevin Whitby, the tenants of Beau’s safe house (including Rose Zeller and Noel Harwich), the Greengrass family, Hannah Abbott, Alecto Carrow, and Neville Longbottom.
Harry Potter and the Lack of Lamb Sauce -- a fanfiction that started as a cracky drabble where Gordon Ramsay took the position of Hogwarts Potions professor instead of Horace Slughorn -- has now grown to 75 chapters in length.
You read that right: 75 CHAPTERS.
I couldn’t be more overwhelmed, and I couldn’t be more honored by how many of you have followed me on this long of a journey, particularly when we still have a ways to go before the story’s conclusion! Thank you so much again, all of you, for all of your support -- I couldn’t be more grateful for it, believe me.
In this chapter, we get focus on Rose, Noel, Owen’s grandmother Trudy, Lucius Malfoy, Gordon and Tana Ramsay, and the MagicChefs. I do believe a certain canon event will be rearing its ugly head in this chapter too, but we’ll have to wait and see how the fall-out ensues, in this AU...

Wow, yes, a quick update this go-round! This one will have some real highs and lows, so I apologize in advance for that. I don’t mean to strain your heartstrings too badly, but unfortunately it is a bit unavoidable.
In this chapter we get focus for Rose Zeller and Noel Harwich, Kevin Whitby and his family, the Creevey brothers, and another old familiar face we haven’t seen in a while...but is he friend or foe...?
Aaaand finally an update! In this chapter, we get a whole bunch of letters from our MagicChef contestants, which are then interrupted by a scene with Daphne Greengrass and another character I won’t spoil yet! Another shift is occurring...what changes will it prompt?
YES! Lack of Lamb Sauce has been updated! In this chapter, we finally reach September 1st, and get some individual time focusing on quirky ray of Hufflepuff sunshine Rose Zeller and her unpleasant house-mate Lucius Malfoy!
Next chapters: Millicent, Hannah, and the Greengrass sisters return to Hogwarts and the Golden Trio break into the Ministry of Magic!
