Hi guys! So I had been chatting with my friend @jcmorrigan, who expressed interest in some additional content for my Harry Potter OC, Julien Montmercy...so I decided to draw some of my LGBT+ kids from my fanfiction Harry Potter and the Lack of Lamb Sauce for Pride Month! (Don’t be misled by the silly title -- the fic may start with Gordon Ramsay being the Potions professor instead of Horace Slughorn in sixth year, but it is not as cracky as the premise sounds, not by a mile. XD)

My personal headcanon regarding the girls’ dorms’ stairs is a bit kinder -- I sent it into @harrypotterconfessions a while back:

In my headcanon, when Julien did come out to his housemates, I see all of the girls he’d shared a dorm with helping him move out and get settled in his proper dorm. The few Slytherins who might’ve had a problem with Julien’s identity (not as many as you’d think, actually) were smart enough to keep their mouths shut.

@imagitory Now that I think it all over, your version is WAY more polite - I didn’t think my scenario all the way through and I wish to apologize. The castle definitely would respect all its students in that way!

But I am still going through huge Julien Loving Hours and if you ever have more material on him (which is in no way a request or a demand for it), I would so love to see it. Seriously, I keep forgetting he was never part of the Junior MagicChefs because his arc was so good and he was just an all-around neat guy with an engaging personality :-)

No worries, cherie -- honestly, I was just thrilled to have Julien content in my inbox!! I love my boy so much, so believe me when I say I’m really happy that you enjoyed his personality and storyline. I’ve actually seen a few people sharing Lack of Lamb Sauce on social media as an example of HP fanfiction with transgender representation, and honestly, seeing people do that got me all choked up. I’m a cisgender woman who could never truly know the struggle that members of the trans community have gone through, so knowing that I wrote characters who identify with that community and could mean something to others -- especially readers who are trans themselves...I can’t even begin to express how touched I am by that.

I’d be happy to put out more Julien content, if I knew where to start! Haha. XD My art is kind of garbage still, but since I have been actively trying to improve my mediocre drawing skills, maybe I should try giving a go at sketching some of my LGBT babies, in light of this whole mess...

Whaaaat, Tory actually tried drawing something?? Yeah, looks like it! Totally not an artist, but I felt like trying to visualize some of my girls from Lack of Lamb Sauce: Bridget Jaheem, Astoria Greengrass, and Hannah Abbott! The proportions are all off, but doodling these were fun all the same…maybe I can try Julien Montmercy or Rose Zeller a little later, if I’m feeling adventurous. *shrug*

The character theme I use for Julien is Lindsey Stirling’s Ascendance. It starts off very slowly and cautiously – every note is very artfully placed and has a lot of weight – but once it warms up, it reveals a lot of energy, strength, and passion. It’s very Slytherin to me without following the dark, moody stereotype.

Does he have any pets?

No, actually! But Julien’s mother Antoinette Montmercy is a Herbologist, so Julien grew up around and feels very comfortable around plants. He often helps his mother care for the various exotic plants in their indoor greenhouse at home, whether by watering the Flutterby bushes or putting the magical radio next to the mandrakes to soothe their crying.
