New York City ballet production of Midsummer Nights Dream
The fact this isn't a painting is a testament to one of the greatest feats of set design and production I've ever seen.
My god just look at this! The lighting, set design, photography... I've just never seen anything like it.

So, since we have a wonderful NEW YEAR! (you hear me 2020! bye bye!) ahead of us,I thought “let’s start it properly!” An original piece this time, and gosh how much I loved to draw it! Fanarts are nice and fun but sometimes a break feels very good ^^ the lovely ballerina is inspired by this wonderful photo by Daria Filatova

The Rat King and Clara
@burningbrightcandleco recently had a sale for a special limited edition candle featuring sights and smells from the Nutcracker! Marissa came to me a while back and asked if I could create a Nutcracker inspired papercraft to adorn the label for this candle and she set me loose into my papercraft playground! 🌸 I truly love the aesthetics of the Nutcracker and was so excited to do this for Marissa’s project. It’s so homey and nostalgic. I adore the classic ballet adaptation, but one of my childhood memories is watching this very lesser known 1990’s animated feature “The Nutcracker Prince”. It’s surprisingly well written and entertaining for its demographic; uses the classic music very well against the visuals; and even has some scenes that were animated by veteran Disney animators (in the climax) which are just so emotional and breathtaking against Tchaikovsky’s Pas de Deux segment (for which this piece is named for). The animation in the beginning is a bit choppy and may deter some, but I insist people give it a chance! I swear, every time I hear Kiefer Sutherland speak in other movies or shows nowadays, my ear perks and I’m only imaging the prince from this film speaking in his stead. 😍✨🧡
Merry Christmas to all the girls who saved their enchanted boyfriends from giant rats by bopping the biggest rat on the head with a slipper, killing him instantly.
