RON WASLEY & HERMIONE GRANGER + Love Tropes
All the Weasleys kids were show offs, not only Percy.
I mean it makes sense, they were 7 of them, you need to find a way to be visible too. And looking at the way Arthur and Molly were parenting, it makes even more sense.
We don't know a lot about Charlie and Bill, but look at their jobs, their hobbies, their appearances and the fact they were playing with the tables so they can be funny and loud at the same time, they definitely liked the attention. The only reason it's not as bad it's because the age gap is quite big, they never "compete" for attention very hard, bc they were not in the same house with the rest of the children, for most of their lives.
Percy had his grades, job and in general academic and work related achievements.
The twins were "every attention is good attention". As far as they were the centre of the universe they were happy, they didn't care if they were praised or shouted, they seem to enjoy both equally. They were loud, malicious pretty often, and were quick to snatch the attention from the other siblings any given moment, snarky, they caused chaos and we know they were flamboyant too.
Ron had first the chess, every time he could win against someone he would do it, he wanted to play even with people, he knew he would beat, bc he loved the feeling and the attention. And after the whole quidditch confidence boost, he was cocky about everything, the game, lavender anything he could parade in front of the others.
Ginny too, was loud, arrogant rebellious, pretty easy to get aggressive. He loved being involved with everybody's business and in general, too, loved to be seen.
The only reason Percy gets all the slander is: 1) JKR writing 2) Harry's pov 3) He doesn't have "cool" achievements. He is the boring one, bc god forbid you like school. Otherwise all the siblings are pretty similar in this aspect.

But from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend. Because there are somethings you can’t go through in life and become friends, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them.

I had been thinking about how you made Ron into a chef. Would you allow other people to give that trait to Ron in their own stories if they asked you first?
I wouldn't claim ownership of that idea anyway, as I'm quite sure I'm not the first one who's written it in the long history of Harry Potter fandom, nor do I dream of being the last -- so I wouldn't even expect credit for it. 😅 Chef!Ron is public domain as far as I'm concerned -- if anyone wants to use that idea, they should just do it! 💗

Ron Weasley
You said to us once before that there was time to turn back if we wanted to. We’ve had time, haven’t we?
Ron in Disney Style :D with two different haircuts haha
Tomorrow I’ll post Hermione, I’m quite happy with how I drew her!
I can’t decide when Ron was worse as a friend; was it when he blamed Hermione for Scabbers’ disappearance in the third year, his jealousy of Harry in the fourth, or when he abandoned them both in the seventh?
Considering that in the first’s case, nobody knew that Scabbers was Peter Pettigrew and had faked his own death at that time and Hermione showed a distinct lack of caring or sensitivity when it’d looked like her cat -- her pet, and therefore her responsibility -- had killed her friend’s rat when that friend would clearly not be able to buy a pet to replace him and was understandably very upset...yeah, I’d say Hermione was the worse friend in that particular case. And even then, when Hermione understandably apologized first, Ron likewise apologized for how he’d behaved and -- after finding out Scabbers was really Pettigrew -- also made amends with Crookshanks. Ron also took all responsibility for preparing Hagrid’s appeal, both for Hagrid’s sake and Hermione’s, since she’d taken on so much of the burden by herself while still being swamped with her classes...and this is while he isn’t as natural of a scholar as Hermione is.
And considering that in the second’s case, Ron was NOT the only person who thought Harry had put his name in the Goblet by a long shot (the whole school thought he did, excluding Dumbledore and Hermione, and yet I don’t see anyone getting cross at Fred and George or Harry’s other yearmates for not believing him) and that Ron’s insecurity about being overshadowed by his brothers was already established and is honestly pretty damn justifiable...I would say that his jealousy was understandable, even if the way he expressed it wasn’t, and Ron more than made up for it after the fact. He clearly regretted how he’d behaved and missed Harry a lot, and both Harry and Ron would’ve likely made up a lot sooner were it not for their own stubborn pride. And one thing that’s easy to forget, if you haven’t read the original book in a while, is that Harry did fantasize about what it would be like to enter the Triwizard Tournament and be Champion at one point. He too was kind of charmed by the idea of winning the Triwizard Cup for Hogwarts and impressing his crush Cho Chang, however briefly -- it was only when he actually got it under such shady circumstances that Harry realized he really didn’t want it.
Then of course in the third’s case, as wrong as Ron was, we can point to the Horcrux being around his neck at the time, which was established to screw with the Trio’s emotions and Ron’s in particular. Ron had the most to lose out of the Trio, since Harry’s family was already dead and Hermione’s was in hiding with no memory of her while Ron’s had to stay in harm’s way, and the Horcrux fed off of that fear, as well as Ron’s previously established insecurities. And yet as Ron said, he wanted to come back the instant that he’d left. It just proved close to impossible to try to find Harry and Hermione again without help, particularly when Ron ended up getting cornered by Snatchers and having to go into hiding for a while on his own. It was only thanks to Dumbledore’s Deluminator that he succeeded in finding them again -- and I gotta say, after messing up that badly, it would take a lot of courage to come back with the knowledge of how badly you messed up and the intention of trying to make things right. Ron’s always had that, though -- he’s always been brave enough to own up to his actions and work to fix things. And frankly, I’d say that makes him a pretty damn good friend. I’ve had plenty of friends who don’t like owning up to anything they’ve done wrong, whenever we got into disagreements -- I’d much rather have a friend like Ron who’s able to accept responsibility when such situations inevitably crop up...especially when that same friend also has a great sense of humor; a generous spirit despite growing up in a poor family; a heart caring enough to make him fly an enchanted car with his brothers to his best friend’s house to make sure he’s okay after not hearing from him all summer and then take that same friend home with him after finding him locked up in his room; and a fierce sense of loyalty that prompts him to protect his friends when they’re being bullied or hurt.
