I am obsessed with this.

So because parkour is such a ridiculously male dominated sport, the "correct technique" for a lot of these movements that you're taught when you become an instructor plays to a male body's strengths: upper body strength, higher center of gravity, etc.

She demolishes this course by moving in ways that make sense for her body. She doesn't muscle her way up to her over a wall, she just throws a leg up over the wall. She doesn't use upper body strength to do the salmon ladder, she uses her hips!!! And it's fucking incredible.

So many girls and young women walk away from parkour because every movement caters to the strengths of men, because doing what makes sense for their bodies is seen as "bad technique" to be trained away.

If pre-transition me had seen this I would have cried tears of joy.

I have often used Barbie to explain Greek mythology, and people laugh until I explain it, and then they get really serious and thoughtful. 

I say, “The Greeks ascribed aspects to gods. Apollo had many aspects, but all were Apollo. He’s like Barbie that way. She’s an astronaut, a veterinarian, and a rollerskater, but no matter which of those things she is in the moment, she is always still Barbie. She is Barbie in her aspect as.” 

Then people get not only the idea of “aspects” of godhood, but also, well, the changeable yet eternal nature of Barbie.

Ok I get this and I get why people be mad about it, I respect all peoples view on this so I expect the same in return. (So put down the pitch forks) but I bet that ain’t gonna stop people and I can already see the angry people ahead so 🤷🏽‍♀️

But I want to add that they are genetically alter to be different (that included looks too whether that was intentionally or unintentionally). I hardly see anyone mention this when talking about the bad batch and comparing them to “Normal/Regular” clones.

They aren’t meant to look like regular clones so people stop comparing them too them.

That isn’t to say that the regular clones haven’t had their fair share of issues and I agree they definitely messed up with the colouration of them and making them way lighter than what they should be. (Even though it’s gonna depend on the palate grabs from the image as lighting has an effect of this making colours appear light or dark and effects of filters ect.)

If the clone wars had kept all regular clones more accurate to Temuera Morrison (who is a really nice guy btw) then it would of enhance the feel of them being outcast and different.

On a side note on this we are lucky to be getting more of clone wars/bad batch they were going to scrap it hence why season 7 took so long, because people were fighting to make it happen. No it’s not going to be a 100% perfect especially when most of it was done during COVID and I doubt the animators could be very picky about those rona conditions.

But that’s just my opinion on the matter and I could say more but I’m not because it’s cover so much and I don’t want to repeat what has already been said a million times.

Edit: ok I had to add this but it was bugging me cuz they don’t get enough recognition is the animators for this go through a shit tone to make this. No it ain’t gonna be perfect but I guarantee only a fair few people (I have several friend who went into animation) know what these people face just to get their work out in time.

Edit 2: after edit one it got me thinking about the animators who worked for Lucasfilm Animation and well reached out to a friend who sent me this and apparently working for those who created Star Wars should be enough pay.
