(Pic is not my art. I got it from Pinterest) 'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't You can't make your heart feel something it won't Here in the dark, in these final hours I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power But you won't, no you won't 'Cause I can't make you love me, if you don't Song: Bonnie Raitt - I Can't Make You Love Me
that magic moment
This is me butting in to fill a prompt for an anon who had a bad day yesterday. Depressions sucks, friend, this I well know. Sorry it got a bit angsty. Tony is a dork, as we are all WELL aware. Hopefully this helps a little.

Title is from the “godawful wedding song Darcy has chosen for [their] first dance”: Could I Have This Dance. See Steve, it’s not that bad.
Steve stared at himself in the mirror, eyes scanning up and down his tuxedo. He reached up to tweak his bowtie and then made a face when it ended up crooked in the other direction.
“Stop touching it,” Clint said, stepping around and slapping at Steve’s hand. “I will make you stand at attention, don’t think I won’t.”
Steve leveled a glare, but he knew it failed even before Clint grinned.
“Relax, Cap. Nothing is going to go wrong today.”
“I know that,” Steve said. His voice wasn’t quite convincing though, and he scowled at his reflection. His hand started to rise, but Clint pushed it back down before it got anywhere near his tie.
“I mean—and I can’t believe I’m saying this—Loki is in charge of security and you know he’s not going to let anything happen.”
Steve’s nose wrinkled. “Don’t remind me,” he muttered.
AGE OF ULTRON SPOILERS. And like, heavy shit, and angst, and Steve Rogers attacking Tony’s mouth with his tongue. Like he does. All the time.
Please note that I am not that great at writing kissing scenes. And I change point of view a lot. And say Steve a lot. Well Tony does.
And when I say “Tony wounded his hand around” means wounded like a wound up toy. I have no idea if I spelt it right, but that’s the context I’m using it as. Wound as in: twist, rounded, something like that.
Also dailysuperhusbands explained perfectly why I absolutely love this scene with Fury.
I NEVER REALLY PROOF READ. SORRY FOR ANY SPELLING OR GRAMMAR MISTAKES.

Hello
@saved-by-the-notepad I had to finish the misery I created
(Also warning for slight internalized homophobia. And angst. Lots of angst)

The thing was, it was Steve’s fault. It was his fault, and yet here he was, curled up on the bed in his small, Brooklyn apartment, eyes sore from staring at the bright screen of his cell phone.
It was his fault, and it was 5 years ago.
It was his fault, and he couldn’t believe what an idiot he’d been, to walk away from his friend, his best friend, his lover, for some girl he’d known for two months.
But it was Sharon, and she was a pretty, pretty girl. A nice girl, a girl he could’ve seen himself spending the rest of his life with. Marriage, kids, old age. It would’ve been…normal. It would’ve been what he’d wanted since he was a kid. A nice wife to come home to every night after work, a family to raise.
It was what he needed. It was what he’d thought he needed.
It was pathetic, really, that it took him until now to realize that what he really needed, who he really needed, was–
“This is Tony Stark. Leave a message.”
Whaaaat!!!
Morning Light
Summary: During his morning routine, Steve has a revelation about Tony
Marvel 616; rated T; approximately 1420 words
Written for 890fifth’s sixth round prompt: Shaliara
When he was fighting in WWII, Steve learned that every day he woke up was a good day. His wars now weren’t any different. Stranger, more superpowered heroes and villains, more aliens, more morally grey fights, but still wars to protect people and keep them safe. And every day he wore up was a still good day.
Waking up these days was even better knowing that he was going to wake up next to Tony.
The day before had been one of those common fights against the newest supervillain off to prove how villainous he was by taking on the Avengers. Steve got scratched and dented leading his team through taking the guy down. Tony fussed at him when he refused to be looked at by a paramedic until the rest of the team was taken care of, civilians safe and sound, and the cleanup of the city streets underway.
Steve rubbed his eyes and swung his feet off the bed. He felt good enough for a short run this morning despite yesterday’s bruises. Not a long one, just a 10 mile run through Central Park. He’d be back before Tony even started considering getting up.
He stood up and Tony moved immediately into the warm empty spot. He was wrapped up in the covers, eyes closed tight in sleep. Steve smiled as he looked down at his partner. He’d prefer boyfriend, but Tony scoffed at that, saying they were both too old for that. But neither had found a better title for their relationship.
In the bathroom, Steve unwrapped the bandages on his arms and shoulders. The deep cuts were already healed over and would be gone by the evening. Tony worried far too much about him. Sam would say that it was because Tony was afraid of losing him after all they had been through. Steve preferred not to think about what had happened two years ago. Bad choices, terrible consequences, and they all had barely made it through to the daylight on the other side.
Steve waved to the guards in the lobby of the Stark Tower on his way out. It wasn’t far to the park from the tower. Steve running was a common sight in this part of the city. No one bothered to look up or rubberneck as Captain America sprinted past.
Central Park was full of early morning joggers in their workout clothes and ubiquitous StarkPods. Tony pushed him to use one. But Steve liked peace and quiet when he ran. He’d grown up with the sounds and rhythm of the city. Hearing the noise reminded him that he was alive and well. He’d had years of silence in the ice.
He nodded at fellow runners as he passed them. Usually he put in 20 miles when he had nothing planned. But he’d prefer to spend his day off with Tony, and he begrudged the hour he’d take running. A half-hour sounded reasonable and maybe he would pick up bagels on the way home.
If anyone told him last year that today he would be living in relative domestic bliss with Tony, he would have laughed at them. So much had gone bad between him and Tony, starting with the mind wipe and incursions. The road back to them being friends had been bleak, full of roadblocks and not at certain, much less lovers.
Remembering, he could see Tony in his new silver armor. They were angry men, tortured by what they had lost, but Tony had stood by him at the end when it counted. That had stopped Steve in his tracks.
That was it, enough to break through the wall between them. They worked together to stop the incursions and fix the time stream. It worked. He didn’t know why Tony just being there changed his mind. Steve thought at first that Tony had only wanted to buy time to try his latest ideas. But he had been as lost without Steve as Steve had been without him.
Steve rounded the last turn in his run and headed to the bakery. He didn’t mind the wait as he breathed in the warm scents of coffee, warm bread and cinnamon. Maybe he wouldn’t order only bagels this morning …
“Good morning, Steve,” said Maria, the cheerful older woman who owned the shop with her husband. “So what do you want today?”
Steve hemmed and hawed. “Maybe just one of everything?”
He watched her pack a box of their best pastries with a few extra, and then she charged only for a dozen pastries. Tony always teased him that Steve was Maria’s favorite. Steve insisted on paying full price.
“No,” Maria laughed, pushing away Steve’s hand. “I haven’t see Tony in a few weeks.”
“He’s been traveling for business.”
“Tell him Maria asked about him.” She put the box into a bag and handed it over to Steve. Winking at him, she teased, “When are you going to make an honest man out of him?”
Steve laughed it off. “See you later.”
He picked up coffee and a paper from the coffee shop a couple of doors down from the bakery. He headed back to the tower while the city came sluggishly to life around him.
Stopped by a traffic light, Steve’s thoughts wandered to Tony curled up in the sheets in their bedroom. Tony had clung to him all night long as if he let go, Steve would disappear. To be honest, he did the same if Tony got injured, or had nightmares, or had a bad day.
He was lucky to have Tony in his life. He couldn’t imagine losing him again. There were no guarantees in their line of work.
In the elevator on the way up to the penthouse, the thought flashed across his mind that he could ask Tony to marry him.
When the elevator car stopped at their floor, the doubt settled in. Everyone knew that they were living together and that they were a couple. A couple forged tight and strong through war, pain, loss. No need for a ring or piece of paper to make a bond like that official.
Tony was still asleep, his black hair peeking out from under the covers. Steve leaned against the doorway, watching him. He could imagine Tony standing at the altar in his best suit among all their friends waiting for him. He see the glint of light on his ring on Tony’s finger.
His heart clenched at the thought. Maybe he wanted that. Maybe he wanted that a lot.
He carefully sat down on the bed, but he still woke Tony up.
“Coffee?” Tony asked in a sleep-blurred voice.
Putting the box and coffee on the bed, Steve bent over and kissed the top of Tony’s head. “Yeah. Coffee. And breakfast.”
Tony stirred and slowly propped himself up, his sharp blue eyes full of love. He reached out to grab the proffered cup.
“Glad to see me or the coffee?” Steve teased. He ran a hand through Tony’s thick black hair.
“Not sure. Need to wake up first.”
Steve swung his legs up on the bed and scooted up to lean against the headboard. Tony immediately laid his head on Steve’s shoulder. Steve opened the box and looked for a bearclaw. “Maria says hello.”
“That’s nice.”
“She wanted to know when I’m going to make an honest man out of you.”
Tony snorted. He drank his coffee. Steve offered him a bite of the bearclaw. Then Tony looked thoughtful. “Well, when are you?”
“When am I what?” Steve asked. He was scanning the Bugle’s front page.
“Making an honest man out of me.” Tony yawned. He snuggled further into Steve’s side.
Steve’s heart skipped a beat. “Would you?”
“What?”
“Would you want to marry me?”
Tony stretched. “Only if you put into the wedding vows that you bring me coffee in bed every day.”
Steve put an arm around Tony’s shoulders. “If you want.” He squeezed. “But seriously, would you marry me?”
No response. Steve could feel Tony tighten up. His blood ran cold. He was so certain about Tony, trusted him so much, even after the horrible stuff that went down last year.
“I would be doing you a favor taking you off the market,” Tony said. “You’ve been a bachelor for longer than some countries have existed.” He entwined his hand in Steve’s.
“Is that your answer?”
Tony looked up at him with a smile. “I’ve been hoping you’d ask for a long time. Yes.”
Steve smiled broadly and kissed Tony, trying to show him how much he loved him.
Breaking off the kiss, Tony teased, “The things I do to get breakfast in bed.”
Beautiful
Superhusbands
Alright! Let’s get this show on the road!
Steve didn’t really know what to do.
In fact, none of the team knew what to do as they stared at Tony who was curled up on the couch, sleeping soundly as the television was left on as background noise.
The genius had managed to make himself as small as possible as he burrowed himself into the material of Steve’s sweatshirt as well as the blanket that Natasha had covered him with to keep warm. This wasn’t an unfamiliar scene as they were often used to finding Tony in such positions, falling asleep in random places.
The couch being one of the better places.
But what they weren’t used to were the pair of fluffy, brown cat ears that rested on top of the male’s head. They twitched slightly ever now and again as the male slept on peacefully on the couch. Another thing that they weren’t used to was his long tail that was similar in color and texture to his ears. It usually had a mind of its own as it slowly swayed backwards and forth but now, it rested underneath the blankets, curled around Tony’s body.
And then there was the purring…the deep yet oh so adorable purring that emitted from the male’s chest and a soft smile of content rested on Tony’s rosy lips.
The team really didn’t know what to do.
But they couldn’t say that he wasn’t adorable because he freaking was and Natasha had even gently scratched one of his ears, causing Tony to mewl happily and push against her hand.
“So…Loki, I’m presuming?” Clint spoke as he leaned against the couch, his arms crossed over his chest and the rest of the team simply nodded in response. Thor looking quite apologetic for his brother’s behavior as he shook his head in exasperation.
Steve looked down at the sleeping male before smiling softly and leaning down slightly in order to scratch behind Tony’s cat ear, the smile almost turning into a grin as Tony purred appreciatively and leaned into the warmth of Steve’s hand.
He had to say that his boyfriend made a very cute and incredibly adorable cat.
CAT!TONY will probably become a series of things because I have so many scenarios of Tony being such a kitten and it’s so much cute!
That’s so adorable
Yes it is ☺️
“Tony! How long are you planning to stare at me???” Steve whispers with a blush “What??? Can’t I look at my husband??? Have I stated tonight how beautiful you are?” Tony lovingly caresses Steve’s face “Ummm… You can but..” Steve turns his face away shyly “Hey… Steve, darling look at me” “What” “I love you and I have been thinking” Tony looks into Steve’s eye with admiration “What?” “Let’s start a family Steve. You me n a kid” Tony states positively “You do?” Steve is shocked “Yea will you, Steve be a papa to our kid?” Tony ask nervously Steve jumps onto Tony and pins him under and kisses him with all his passion “YES!!! I love u too, Tony”
However far away I will always love you However long I stay I will always love you Whatever words I say I will always love you I will always love you
"Captain?" Tony finds Steve sitting all alone one night looking all sad and Heartbroken "Steve... What's wrong?" "Tony! I am feeling so lonely. All alone I have no one, no Peggy, no Bucky, I am not even from this generation. I am all Alone" Tony walks up to Steve looks into his eyes and with conviction and love replies " You're not alone you have me Steve and I love you"
"This is mine Tony! No one else gets it. Your heart belongs to me" "Ummm... Ok Steve but know that not only my heart but my life belongs to you too" ❤️
“You’re my light Tony Stark”
“And you Captain are my life”
"Captain!!! Wake up!!!" Tony screams with complete fear in his voice. "Why won't u wake up dammit!!! Steve baby wake up!!! It's me your Stark, baby wake up!!!" Tony's anxiety increases and he does not even realise that he's been crying ever since he saw the Captain falling down "JARVIS, give me the near location of a hospital, Steve is just not responding but has a pulse" "Right away sir. Do you want me to inform them about the urgent situation?" "Yes" Stark answers with a Dismissed voice to JARVIS "Sir, Mr. Rogers will be back, he has to come back to us, trust me" "JARVIS, you're the only one other than Steve I trust." Tony bring Steve to the hospital and just before they take him away, Stark with utmost sincerity whispers in Steve's ears "honey, you'll come back, I know you will!!! I love you!!!"
"Who do you think you are? I have been waiting for you so we can have dinner together" Steve pins Tony and demands an answer angrily "I had been finishing up my meetings so that for next whole week I could spend time with you in our getaway island" Tony answers with a smirk "but if you want to start now... Fine by me" Steve blushes "Tony!!! Shut up" "Ok captain" Tony laughs.
Tony meets Steve
I know that some might not like this ship but I find it adorable!!!
So this is the first time I am writing a Stony story :D Njoy!!!

“Today has been a hard day Jarvis, I am going out for a drink. I just… Want to be in a crowded place.” Tony picks up his coat to walk out of his house.
“But sir, it’s raining outside. I suggest you stay in”
“No Jarvis, I can’t, I just…” With a heavy sigh Tony walks out and thinks to himself ’ how pathetic it is for the most richest man to be the most loneliest soul right now’. Tony walks away from his residence his city his life to a place where probably no one might recognise him. But that can’t be it everyone knows who he is.
Tony is completely drenched by now cause of the heavy downpour that his jacket clings on to him. He forgoes his want to have a drink and continues walking to nowhere.
There is a huge thunder and he realises that he has come to the same place a mountain cliff that he used to visit often as a child the only place of solace. Must be subconscious.
Tony sits down and can see the whole city twinkle beneath him. ‘Oh how many times has he seen this view but never tires of it’ he muses to himself.
“You know this place has a significance. This cliff. It is said you get all your questions answered here if you truly ask the right one”
Tony looks behind him startled and sees a light hair blue eye man standing right behind him.
“Hi I M Steve ” the guy winks. Steve comes closer and kneels beside Tony and slowly wipes Tony’s tears. “My friend you are crying and I must say ‘let it go’ you need to heal”
Tony snorts “do you know who I Am”
Steve replies radiating a warm smile “Ya a very lonely man”
Shocked Tony couldn’t control his tears any longer 'how can a stranger know this?’
Steve warmly hugs Tony and that’s that, Tony for the very first time cries his heart out.
Hours later both of them are lying side by side and looking up at the stars. The rains have stopped and the smell of fresh earth lingers in the air.
“How do you know of this place Steve”
“An old friend brought me here once. He and his son showed me how beautiful place this can be. How one can make memory. ”
“What’s your friend’s name?”
“Howard Stark”
Tony gasps and looks toward Steve “I am Tony Stark”
Steve comes closer towards Tony leans over him and with the most lightest kiss on his lips replies “yes I know, and now you have me, you’re not lonely anymore stark” Steve grins.
Tony smiles and looks up towards the sky and replies “yes captain” and holds Steve’s hand for eternity
