Thank ya @kpmccolgan and @phantom-stargazer for tagging me! I finally got around to writing something new, so here she is:

Fumbling kisses you can never be without.

They tear into your soul with a silent shout.

Sweet whispers of each person’s brave declarations.

We throw our hands to the air in grand celebration.

Starting is easy, persistence is an art.

All endings are hard because they take so much heart.

”I can’t keep going this way,” Or so he says. “I’m King of die Dunkelheit, and you are my Queen des Licht.” Thinking of their love’s doom gives his weary heart a fright.

His summertime Goddess shifts and settles with an excel of air, then moves her lips in a soft mumble about how it could be fair. “My dear drágám, it will be alright.”

He sheds a crystalline tear, “I don’t want to see you go again, Liebe. Even if I have to put up a fight.”

A chilled breath of air leaves the Winter King’s lips, collecting ice on the cheek of his lover. The Queen of Summer nestles his hand as he leans down to brush their foreheads together.

She grabs his face, desperate to pull him closer in her last moments, “Érdemes megcsókolni a halált, ha ő vagy te—

“AHHH,” Mayra’s face slams into her desk as she squawks to herself. “This is supposed to be a world-shaking murder! How did I make it become so romantic?”

She kicks and huffs a bit more before doing her best to shake the Jane Austen out of her. “Hoo-kay, murder. We’re doing murder.” Mayra mutters.

She rifles through a pile that sits dangerously close to a lukewarm coffee and procures a thinner stack of papers that was only clipped together by the pure will of God. It’s stained cover, jokingly labelled ‘BACKSTORY’S BACK ALRIGHT!’ in blocky handwriting, always gives her a quick chuckle.

Soon enough, she’s diving back into the vast, fantasy land of her own making to find any inaccuracies with this new and spicy information. Completely lost to the world around her once more.

Thanks for the tag, @aphteavanawrites ! Sorry for taking so long to respond.

From a future book in the Illthdar series, The King's Men:

The witch-hunts in the other Order branches were bad, but what was worse was Chiyoko's insatiable paranoia - she saw all of Fluorite as a threat. Trenfal knew there would come a point when he was held to account for his role in supporting her, but he didn't see how else he could keep in her good graces to be able to accomplish his own goals if he refused. She had no qualms about killing her peers, he didn't doubt she would hold back on getting rid of a rebellious subordinate.

Thanks to the people who tagged me!

Project: Atlas

Last line(s):

I duck under the fence and under the DO NOT CROSS sign, my phone reading five-forty as I approach the abandoned facility.

Taking a shaky breath as I come to a stop several yards away from the entrance, I stare up at the multi-level vacant place. My hands shaking, I pull out my phone and turn on the flashlight as I head into the building.

The lights overhead flicker and dim as the door closes behind me, the flickering above not helping me as I make my way over the scattered tables, chairs, and shattered glass.

Glancing to my left to peer through the fragmented widowed walls, I stop my tracks and catch my breath as a soft, distant howl fills the air.

What the hell was–?

Another one fills the air and I step forward, peering around the corner and sigh a breath of relief.

No one.

Continuing my way into the building, I find myself in an abandoned corridor that branched off from the main one but just as wide.

Sorry for taking so long to get to this! Thanks so much for the tag!

From a future book in the Illthdar series, The King's Men:

If it was the King of Swords, Trenfal felt he could at least count on an audience. He couldn't be so sure of anyone else; the King of Cups was not the charitable sort, the King of Coins was notorious for saying one thing and doing something quite different, who could say the kind of sway the King of Wands had over Queen Gehail, and the Red King was someone with undeniably poor judge of character.

thanks for the tag @zwritesstuff – it’s been forever since I’ve been tagged in any tag games!

I literally just finished 4th draft revisions of the first act of my book about ten minutes ago. And here is the last line in chapter 12:

“Tread lightly, Marilee.”

That’s it.

I tag @serphics @janetbrown711 @tiredbard @illthdar & anyone else who wants to do this can just say I tagged them.

Thanks for the tag, dear!

I’m caught up on my re-reading and am starting to write more on a future release to the Illthdar Series, the working title at the moment is The King’s Men:

How curious Tabitha was about his conversation with Tundra, he couldn’t be sure. It didn’t matter, in either case: it was of no concern to her.

Tundra hadn’t pulled his punches with his delivery. “There’s a gap in intel that I could check my shoulders through. Scy isn’t saying shit and Inari hasn’t fulled us in from their perspective. What I did see was her throwing looks at Vyxen’s great grand-bastard.

Great grand-bastard being Maraxis. A marked title that Toshiiro struggled to take seriously past the obvious detail that the puca was related to the Allaways. Recalling the line still brought an amused snort, though it was far from the best time or place.
